Interrupting the cyclical “fight or flight” pain response in the body includes naming it and feeling it. It’s not easy, it’s like breaking any habit.
Name it: Calm, peace, confident, Joy.
Feel it: What would that feel like in your body? Relaxed eyes? relaxed muscles, calm breathing, etc.
Do it: Practice peace in your body by intentionally relaxing your muscles, breathing deep, etc.
Deep Breathing can help us to give our brain’s a break from worrying about the past and future.
