In this episode we speak with Janet Krone Kennedy, Ph.D. about something that affects half the population but is rarely discussed in enough detail: how hormones impact women’s sleep. Dr. Kennedy is a clinical psychologist with more than two decades of specialized experience treating sleep disorders. She is the founder of NYC Sleep Doctor, providing psychotherapy, coaching and consulting services. Her online Sleep School provides a self-paced psychoeducational platform to expand access to the key components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Dr. Kennedy spent eight years at the Manhattan VA Hospital as a Health Psychologist and Assistant Director of the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, where she developed and implemented the multi-site Sleep Disorders Treatment Program. Dr. Kennedy is the author of The Good Sleeper: The Essential Guide to Sleep for Your Baby (and You). She is also a sought-after speaker, and has been featured widely on television, podcasts, and in print and online publications. In addition to treating sleep disorders, Dr. Kennedy provides short-term, problem-focused therapy for anxiety and mood disorders.
