Arthur Ripstein is a Professor of Law and Philosophy at the University of Toronto. He also previously served as Chair of the Department of Philosophy. His research and teaching interests include torts, legal theory, and political philosophy. He was awarded the JJ Berry Smith Doctoral Supervision Award in 2019. He received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh.
