Micheal Smith made seven starts and played 252 snaps as a true freshman tight end in 2024 at South Carolina and with the departure of Josh Simon, the 2025 season could be his time. Smith, a four-star recruit from Savannah, Ga., is an example of why it is important for the Gamecocks to recruit players that fit his mold out of the Peach State when building the roster. Also, some brief thoughts on men's basketball's eighth straight loss in SEC play and the loaded 2026 cycle in the Carolinas.
