S1 Ep 1887#1887 All Or Nothing - Bobby Cappuccio
Bobby's back informing, educating and inspiring us towards bigger and better things. Or maybe, smaller and better things? Among other things, we talk about whether the 'all or nothing' approach is an effective or ineffective protocol on the 'thinking, doing and being better' journey. Personally, I'm all for some strategic 'nothing' days. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1886#1886 What's Your Body Saying? - Lucas Aoun
Lucas Aoun is a Melbourne-based naturopath, biohacker, and health optimisation expert renowned for his work in enhancing human health and performance through cutting-edge strategies and now, he's pretty-much a TYP regular (it's his third visit). I gotta be honest, this chat was as funny as it was educational and inspirational. Admittedly, we may have spent too long chatting about the benefits of, and protocol for, 'Nocturnal Scrotal Cooling' (icing your balls at night) but I'll let you be the judge. Sorry. Not sorry.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1885#1885 Digital Resurrection - Patrick Bonello
To be honest, the idea of a loved-one being 'brought back to life' using Al (images, video, audio) to create a virtual post-death version of that person, who can 'talk to loved ones left behind, kind of creeps me out. But that's just me. For some people, it's apparently comforting and therapeutic. Patrick, Tiff and I cover quite a bit of ground in this episode and not surprisingly, a lot of it isn't about tech. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1884#1884 Listener Questions - Harps
I threw out the invitation, and in those questions came. Over the next few weeks, l'll record and post a few of these eps where l'm exploring different topics, ideas and questions sent in by you; our trusty and loyal TYP’ers. In this ep I explore training with dodgy knees, backs and general old-person injuries and issues, being motivated but not disciplined, the potential danger of being too hyper-focused on analysing and re-inventing every aspect of our lives, how I maintain high (ish) intensity training while minimising risk, where to start when you're trying to get your sh** together with your food and lots more. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1883#1883 The Room Of Mirrors - Russ Jarrett
By the end of June (2025) @pilates will comprise thirty Pilates studios; not a bad effort considering the organisation was little more than an idea for Russell and Tara Jarrett just four years ago. What I love most about their story is that is that these two are becoming peak performers in their 50's (Russ is 57, Tara 56) and having known them for three decades, it's been fun watching two people 'get better' (and not just in business) at a stage in life when most people are definitely not thinking about learning new things, unlearning old things, developing new skills, studying, taking risks, getting uncomfortable on purpose, winding back their biological clocks and of course, building a successful business and brand. And yes, we also tapped into the Exercise Physiologist's brain, spoke about all-things fitness/strength and answered some listener questions. Enjoy.atpilates.studioSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1882#1882 The Sit-Down Society - Harps
We sit more than ever. We move less than ever. And it's wrecking our health. In this episode, I unpack why sitting for eight-plus hours a day (with no movement) carries a death risk similar to smoking. From metabolic dysfunction to muscle atrophy, to brain fog to increased disease risk, we're paying the price for comfort. I share some facts, ask some hard questions, and offer simple, practical ways to reclaim your health... one movement at a time. Your body's not a chair accessory. Maybe it’s time to take a stand for your health - see what I did there? Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1881#1881 Becoming Ungiveupable - Harps
Apologies team, I’m away from the mic today (back tomorrow) but in the spirit of ‘a daily podcast’, I thought we’d revisit our all-time most popular, most listened to, and most shared podcast. For whatever reason, this message resonated powerfully with many people and we have never received more feedback about any episode. For some of you it will be a brand new listen and for some of you, it might be a refresher. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1880#1880 The Psychology of Buying & Selling - Bobby Cappuccio
In this episode, Bobby and I talk about how, why and when people buy stuff (especially stuff they don't necessarily need), the psychology, perception and story of value, selling in a way that doesn't look or feel like selling, understanding what we're really selling (beyond the obvious product or service), establishing our own commercial worth in a market place of people doing what we do (or similar), how to impress without looking like you're.. trying to impress, a fascinating experiment involving a fake expensive shoe store (with a fake fancy Italian name) selling cheap shoes and manipulating people into paying a fortune for them. All that! Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1879#1879 More Mental Health Issues or Just More Diagnoses? - Dr. Hannah Korrel
Dr. Hannah is back and not only is she a Doctor of Neuropsychology but now (and even more impressive) she's a mum! As always the energy, info and inspo (as the kids call it) was great and we had fun chatting about the chasm between theoretical and experiential learning, the ever-increasing rate of diagnoses of mental health conditions, knowing when to chat to someone about your brain, creating an environment for optimal brain development for 0-5's (age group), Jeff the cat and the groundbreaking revelation (from the Doc) that babies require more effort, time and attention than pets. S1 Ep 1878#1878 An Ego Dancing Unconsciously - Josh Piterman
How much free will do we actually have? How much are we controlled, determined, and driven by our genetics? And brain chemistry? Subconscious mind? Decades of programming? Fear? Of course, we love to think we're in control, but are we? TYP favourite Josh Piterman is back telling us about his new book (Behind the Mask) and along the way we do a deep dive into the mind, ego, soul, consciousness, fear, happiness, equanimity; you know.. the basics (lol). Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1877#1877 Not All Protein is Equal - David Gillespie
Gillespo and the old-bodgey lifter of heavy things opened the protein door and had some fun exploring the science, the stories, the misinformation, the assumptions and the challenges for people eating certain types of diets. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1876#1876 Discipline Is Freedom - Nicole Liddell
According to Nicole Liddell, "discipline is freedom" and if what she's been able to change, achieve and create over the last ten years is a byproduct of discipline, then I'd have to agree with her. Navigating mental health issues, obesity, poverty, domestic violence and a range of other challenges, and then evolving into the inspiration she is today (she wouldn't call herself that but I would), is nothing short of incredible. This is Nicole's second visit to TYP Central and just like the first one, l'm pretty sure most of you will love our conversation.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1874#1874 Success...And Then What? - Harps
This episode is me thinking out-loud about success. The idea of it. The experience of it. The cultural story of it. The marketing and branding of it. What it is and isn't. Why some 'successful people' are miserable and some people that society would label poor are mentally, emotionally and experientially rich. Why we keep moving the goal posts. Why the idea of it (success) is rarely the experience of it. And lots more.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1873#1873 Dodgy Backs - Dr. Jeff Gross
Not only is Dr. Jeff a specialist in regenerative stem cell medicine, anti-aging, longevity and integrative medicine but he's also a spine fellowship trained neurological surgeon. So, not an idiot then. With that in mind, this episode we decided to talk all-things 'dodgy backs'. Muscle stuff. Skeleton stuff. Sitting-on-our-arse stuff. Exercise and rehab stuff. Dealing-with-pain stuff. Treatment stuff and lots more. This was a broadly relevant and practical conversation that I believe many people will find helpful. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1872#1872 Perv Glasses - Patrick Bonello
Hi Team, our tech nerd is back and here's what came up this time... Smart sunglasses with a built-in video camera/recorder that's recording you when you don't know; what could possibly go wrong? Jobs falling by the wayside as Al becomes the new much-cheaper 'preferred employee' for many companies. Nuclear batteries the size of a coin that will last without charging for a hundred years. Panic buying of vibrators (blame Patrick for that topic, not me). Why (some) people trust ChatGPT more than a lawyer for legal advice. Used EV batteries being repurposed to power homes, land plenty more. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1871#1871 The Science & Business Of Coaching - Bobby Cappuccio
The last two decades has seen the proliferation of 'Coaching' and not the sporting kind; the other kind. Or should I say, 'kinds'. Life Coaches. Business Coaches. Health Coaches. High-Performance Coaches. Nutrition Coaches. Relationship Coaches. Mental Health Coaches. Mindset Coaches. Leadership Coaches. Executive Coaches. Fitness Coaches. The List goes on. This time around, Bobby and I chat about what makes and good (or crap) Coach, their role, how to find one, who needs one, how it all works, what to avoid, who to avoid and we give a general insight into the industry as a whole. Enjoy.theselfhelpantidote.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1870#1870 Lucid Dreaming - Charlie Morley
Hi TYP’ers. I’m interstate at the moment, so today we're revisiting one of my favourite chats with Charlie Morley. Enjoy. *“The essence of Buddhism: (1) don’t be a dick (2) be kind to people (3) train your mind” – Charlie Morley (Buddhist Teacher). I didn’t want this episode to end. I loved the chat, loved Charlie and yes, I love my job. Charlie was a drug-taking, hard-living, wild young man who had a NDE (Near Death Experience) and who, through a series of twists and turns, became an internationally renowned Speaker, Lucid Dreaming Expert, best-selling Author (4 books, 15 languages), Teacher of Tibetan Buddhism, Mindfulness Coach and PTSD Expert, producing incredible results with military veterans. If you don’t enjoy this episode, I’ll refund your money. Lol.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1869#1869 "Just Try Harder" & Other Stupid Advice - Dr. Lillian Nejad
Well, Dr. Lillian and I definitely opened the vulnerability door in this episode. Personal pain, revelations, vulnerable stories and even tears, were interspersed with a liberal smattering of science, psychology, effective communication, practicality and a deep dive into the lived experience of grief, trauma, loss and the myriad of intersecting emotions. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ep 1868#1868 Sneaky Little Manipulators - Dr. Sam Casey
In this episode of TYP, Dr. Sam and I chat about being 'hangry' (it's a real thing!), incidental vs. structured learning, bullying, how much praise is too much (when can it become a negative?), separation anxiety, when to give kids access to social media (etc.), kids finding their identity, the pros and cons of kids in sport, kids manipulating parents and lots more. Enjoy. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1867#1867 Tall Poppy Syndrome, Flow States & Cellulite - Dr. Denise Furness
Dr. Denise pulls back the curtain, destroys the mystery and tells us about the very recent arrival of her... cellulite. She's not happy. What started out as a regular TYP episode with one of the smartest minds and best science communicators in Australia, somehow transformed into something of a private coaching session (for the Doc) - complete with laughs, lightbulbs and more personal revelations, in a not-so-private setting. This was fun and I think for many listeners, there was plenty of relevant content. Enjoy. drdenisefurness.com.auSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1866#1866 Why Making Babies is Getting Harder - David Gillespie
In this episode of TYP, Gillespo and I talk about the myriad of factors and variables that influence a couple’s chances for making a baby, declining birth rates, plummeting sperm and testosterone levels and the ever-diminishing chances of becoming a parent. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1865#1865 When Nobody's Cheering - Bobby Cappuccio
Sometimes what matters most is what we can do when nobody's watching, cheering, helping or even caring. How productive and effective we can be when it's just.. us. You. Me. Having support and the occasional cheer squad is nice (of course) but some of us spend much of our lives without such gifts, without many resources and with very little external help. This is not a complaint or ploy for sympathy or pity but rather, just a statement of truth and an accurate reflection of where some people find themselves. In this episode of TYP, Bobby and I talk about this and plenty more. Enjoy.theselfhelpantidote.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1864#1864 Some Sanity In The Food Madness - Simon Hill
Apart from being a ripping bloke, brilliant educator, great conversationalist, simplifier of - what can be - complex information and an anti-bullsh*tter, Simon Hill is one of the most respected voices (in the world) when it comes to the minefield that is, nutrition. In the middle of the sale's pitches, hysteria, food cults and pseudo-science, Simon is the sanity we need and this was one of my favourite TYP conversations this year. Enjoy.theproof.com@simonhillSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1863#1863 Why Choosing Easy Leads To Hard - Harps
Here's the conundrum... people want to be strong, resilient, capable, high-performing and successful but... at the same time, they want comfort. Convenience. Instant gratification. Reward without work. Success without pain. Don't believe me? Take a look at the ocean of 'magic pills' and quick-fixes on offer to help you and me bypass the discomfort, inconvenience and effort. It all sounds very sexy but I've never met anyone who has succeeded over the long term by being obsessed with comfort and convenience in the short term. If you don't want to be coached by me (around this topic) don't listen. If you do, giddy-up.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1862#1862 Cognitive Optimisation (Making Your Brain Work Good-er) - Dr. Cam McDonald
Dr. Cam is back, sharing how to get the most out of your grey and white matter, and offering his top strategies and protocols for keeping those neurons wiring and firing at their best. The brain is one of the most neglected parts of most people's fitness and health plans but just like your biceps, glutes, or heart, it needs to be trained to function anywhere near optimally. In my opinion, most people experience cognitive decline faster than they need to - not because of age, but because they do bugger-all to keep their brain in shape. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1861#1861 The Woman Who Can Smell Parkinson's Disease - Dr. Bill Sullivan
Yep, you read that title correctly. This is a very different and super interesting chat with Dr. Bill about.. well, you read the title. So many interesting factors, considerations, research options, medical possibilities and stories to come out of this woman's fascinating superpower. Enjoy. **Bill Sullivan, Ph.D., is the author of 'Pleased to Meet Me: Genes, Germs, and the Curious Forces That Make Us Who We Are'. He is an award-winning professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he studies genetics and infectious disease. S1 Ep 1860#1860 Instinct, Intuition & Inexplicable Knowledge - Harps
There's a kind of knowing that doesn't come from books, degrees, research papers, TED Talks or even, good-old TYP. It's not downloaded from the internet. It's not something you can Google. You didn't 'learn it’ somewhere. It doesn't ask for permission. It doesn't speak in paragraphs. It whispers. Nudges. It tugs at your sleeve. And sometimes it punches you in the gut. It's not always logical, but it's often right. It's the insight, understanding, knowledge, awareness that you somehow have, without having a f***ing clue how or why you know it. This is a chat about that. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1859#1859 Riding Robot Wolves & Chatting to Dolphins - Patrick Bonello
According to Patrick, in the near future he and I will be buying twin four-legged, hydrogen-powered, robots designed by Kawasaki to be ridden by humans. He calls them 'rideable robotic wolves'. At this point I'd rather be sitting on a good old-fashioned noisy dirt bike that can't think for itself but I guess we'll see how it all goes. We also talk about speaking with dolphins (thanks to Al), modern Monopoly (the kid's game), the dangerous games and toys that existed when I was a kid, tech to help me become more of a handyman, a specific sound that cures motion sickness, Katy Perry in space (or was she?) and lots more. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1858#1858 Neurosis, Anxiety & Trust Issues - Bobby Cappuccio
Surprising I know, but Bobby and I have issues. There I said it. Shocker. And in this TYP instalment we talk about the pros and cons of trust, being driven by anxiety (for good and bad), navigating life with Tourette's (Bobby), the irony of people who don't have their sh*t together teaching people how to... get their sh*t together, reading between the conversational lines, surviving the occasional existential crisis, our first paid speaking gigs and lots more. Enjoy. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1587#1857 The Wisdom Of Your Body - Dr. Jodi Richardson
In some ways, Dr. Jodi and I are peas in a metaphoric pod. We've both had our battles with food, exercise, weight, body image, self-esteem, self-worth, eating issues and all the psychological, emotional and sociological stuff that intersects with the 'body' stuff. As is often the way on TYP, this conversation was not the one we intended to have, going in. Fortunately, I think it was better. Enjoy.drjodirichardson.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1856#1856 Relationships Are Tricky - Harps & Tiff
Tricky. Complicated. Devastating. Healing. Painful. Joyful. Personal. Silly. Serious. Professional. Strategic. Selfless. Stagnant. Dynamic. Relationships are an ever-present part of the human experience (of course) and when we throw in all the psychological, emotional, physical, personal, professional, financial and practical variables, well... no wonder they're easier said than 'done'.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1855#1855 What is Trauma? - Dr. Sarah Woodhouse
Hi Team! Life at TYP central is mayhem at the moment, so we’re delving into the archives to share one of my favourite episodes with you. I will be back tomorrow with a freshie. See you then, Harps. *You wouldn’t think a conversation about trauma could be uplifting, entertaining and even fun, but this chat with Dr. Sarah Woodhouse (trauma expert, research psychologist, author and coach) is all that and more because not only is she a high level academic with a great understanding of the science, but she’s also endured her own trauma journey and come out the other side with amazing compassion, insight, energy and humour. Among other things, we discuss eating disorders, bullying and sexual abuse (all part of Sarah’s story), post-traumatic growth, the trauma spectrum (there’s a range), vicarious trauma, what trauma does to our body, healing and recovery, what causes a trauma response, the stress-anxiety-trauma relationship and why swearers are smarter than non-swearers (it’s science Bro). Enjoy. sarahwoodhouse.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1854#1854 Politics & Purpose - Zoe Daniel
Can't say that I've interviewed too many politicians but you'll (probably) be pleased to know that this was anything but a political interview, and Zoe and I went deep down the conversational rabbit hole talking about everything from parenthood, leadership, communication and her childhood dream of becoming a Vet, to mental health, self-regulation, working in high-pressure situations (war zones etc.), dealing with haters and navigating the mayhem that is, politics. *Zoe Daniel is an Australian politician and former journalist. She was elected as the first independent member of parliament for the Division of Goldstein at the 2022 Australian federal election. Prior to entering Parliament, Daniel was a journalist for the ABC from 1993 until 2020. She was an ABC foreign correspondent in three different postings, including Southeast Asia, the USA and Africa. Her most recent posting was as the ABC's U.S. bureau chief between 2015 and 2019.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1853#1853 Progress Over Perfection - Harps
How's that 'perfection' thing working out for you? You know who you are. You know the frustration, anxiety, disappointment and pressure that comes with chronic perfectionism. It's crippling. It's a self-created psychological prison and it's more likely to lead to misery than it is, joy. Maybe 'better' (not best) is a healthier goal? Progress, not perfection? This episode is a chat about all that. Enjoy. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1852#1852 The Other Version Of You - Bobby Cappuccio
Bobby's back and this time we talk about the value (or lack thereof) of 'self-help', our own humble and unremarkable beginning in the world of motivating, educating and coaching, the challenge of learning how to learn optimally, understanding what works for our brain and mind, what lives at the intersection of frustration and curiosity, a very famous Harvard study that happened to be a scam and lots more. Enjoy. theselfhelpantidote.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1850#1851 Temporary Psychopaths - David Gillespie
According to David Gillespie (and some very reliable research studies), good old-fashioned Paracetamol (Panamax, Panadol, Tylenol) can create the interesting 'side effect' of making people temporarily less empathetic or as DG suggests, “temporary psychopaths!” We also chat about why (and how) Al might soon make 'The You Project' (or at least, the host) redundant. As always this was super interesting.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1850#1850 Goal Setting Simplified - Harps
People make goal setting harder than it needs to be. And while it's not always a metaphoric cake walk (especially when it comes to the 'doing' part of the change process), the actual strategising, planning, time-lining and prioritising (the theoretical component) can be a relatively straight forward and uncomplicated process. This episode is a brief coaching session for those of you who might need some help in getting a little more practical and strategic about the things you want to do, be, create, change and become. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1849#1849 The Coach's Coach - Dr. Iain McCormick
Dr lain McCormick is a total newbie to TYP and he's a ripper. He has a beautiful ability to translate science, research and academic jargon into user-friendly (listener-friendly) stories, metaphors and lessons, that we can all turn into action (should we wish to do so). In broad terms, we spoke about understanding our own mind and the minds of others, subjective and objective reality, living up to the expectations of people we don't want to disappoint (shout out to dad - lol), finding a good coach, the role of a coach, self-awareness and self-regulation and lots more. *BIO: Dr lain McCormick started the Executive Coaching Centre in Auckland, New Zealand over 20 years ago. He is an internationally recognised leader in schema coaching, an evidence-based approach used to deal with deep-seated personal issues. He holds a Master of Social Science with First Class Honours, a Diploma in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in organisational psychology for his research in the area of work stress.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1848#1848 Don't Believe Everything You Think - Corey Jackson
In this episode of TYP, Corey Jackson and I explore the human condition (physical, mental, emotional and social) through the lens of science, philosophy, psychology, Buddhism and real-world lived experience. Corey is fascinating, I loved him and you will too. coreyj.substack.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1847#1847 Anti-Ageing, Placebos & Stem Cells - Dr. Jeff Gross
The super smart, congenial, and down-to-earth Dr. Jeff Gross slides back into TYP Central and as always, he delivers as we open the conversational door on all-things health, wellness, human optimisation and integrative medicine. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1846#1846 Self-Driving Cars Are on the Way - Patrick Bonello
On this episode of TYP, we chat with our resident Technophile Patrick (and Tiff) and we explore self-driving cars (they're on the way), Tesla bonfires, creepy glasses that film people unknowingly, "hi Mum" phone scams, Apple vs. Microsoft, iPads for cat therapy (really), Al designed to replace creative humans doing creative jobs, 23andMe go broke and people worry about their private data (DNA stuff!) and lots more. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1845#1845 Lily's Story - Lily Rychter
About thirty years ago, a new client called Lily showed up at my gym. She was (in her own words) obese, terrified (of me and the gym environment), embarrassed, insecure and desperate to re-invent herself. And she did. Reinvent herself, that is. With a suboptimal lifestyle (very sub), terrible eating habits, genetic challenges, zero fitness and no idea of what she was doing as her starting point, Lily lost over thirty kilos and made amazing fitness and strength gains in a relatively short period of time. Eventually she got qualified as a PT, worked for me for a while, set up her own facility and in 2025 (at 65), she still trains people full-time, is booked out, does zero marketing, advertising or branding and has built a culture and environment that people want to be in the middle of. In the era of selfies, filters, health cults and fitness influencers, I love sharing a story about someone who's doing 'all the wrong things' and thriving! BTW, this is Lily's first podcast and I gotta say, it's maybe the best debut I've ever been part of. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1844#1844 Stoicism: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Chaos - Harps
Hi Team, this episode I dive into something I think everyone should at least learn about (if not, practice): Stoicism. Not because it's trendy, or philosophical, or looks good on Insta but because it's practical, effective and bloody useful, even in 2025. Especially when life gets messy, unpredictable, or just plain difficult. I talk about what Stoicism actually is and isn't, where it came from, why it still matters today, and how you can use it in real life - not just as a theory, but as a legit toolkit for handling pressure, uncertainty, disappointment, and all the day-to-day chaos we face. This isn't about becoming emotionless or detached - it's about becoming more calm, intentional, and resilient. If you've ever struggled with overthinking, emotional reactivity, or the feeling that life's a bit out of your control, this one's for you. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1841#1841 The Hedonic Treadmill - Harps
In this solo episode, I unpack the sneaky psychological pattern known as the 'hedonic treadmill' - the reason we feel amazing when we hit a goal, and kinda flat not long after. We discuss why we keep chasing the next shiny thing. Why our wins wear off so fast. Why happiness doesn't keep up with our progress. Why and how our brains adapt to both the good and the bad. Why contentment often feels just out of reach, and - most importantly - what we can actually do about it all. This episode is part neuroscience, part psychology, part philosophy, and part practical. If you've ever wondered why success can still feel unsatisfying, or how to find more meaning between the wins, this episode is for you. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1840#1840 Efficient Or Just Busy? - Harps
So much busy-ness, so little efficiency. Such a big investment of time, effort, energy and resources, such a poor return on that investment. So much potential, so little success. Ever had someone say "busy" when you ask them how they are? Me too. Ever had someone say "efficient". Me either. This is about that.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1839#1839 What if the Drug is You? - Harps & Tiff
Among other things, this episode is a chat about tricking your mind into believing something that isn't real, in order to create an outcome that is both amazing and real, with your body. The chat revolves around some fascinating research that was conducted over fifty years ago involving one significant lie, fifteen athletes, fake steroids (placebos), and some mind-blowing test results. I love this story. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 1838#1838 Building Resilience & Other Hard Things - Bobby Cappuccio
Bobby is back and this time we talk about the difference between self-care and self-indulgence, the intersection of frustration and curiosity, whether we have beliefs or they have us, doing meaningful work, opinions about opinions, training for mental fitness, finding the right protocol (for each of us individually), resilience, doing scary sh*t and lots more. S1 Ep 1837#1837 Ozempic: Magic or Madness - David Gillespie
Of course Gillespo has written an article (on Substack) about the world's most controversial, talked-about and in-demand drug. So of course we chat about the magic product(?) that tells your brain you're full (so you eat less), slows down digestion (so you stay full longer) and lowers blood sugar levels (helps diabetics manage insulin). We should probably also mention the potential side-effects of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and bloating, loss of appetite, fatigue, burping and acid reflux. Oh, and muscle loss, but who needs muscle?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
