Sue Fennessy is a serial technology entrepreneur, innovator, creator, thought-leader and disruptor. She’s also cheeky, funny, curious and like me, periodically inappropriate. Which, of course, I celebrate. This was a fun chat with a passionate woman, who’s determined to bring some light, laughter and positivity into what-can-be the messy, negative, polarising and hateful landscape of social media. Sue is all about creating a safe, supportive and empowering online space for people to be inspired, informed and educated and she’s on a f*cking mission! That space is called WeAre8. Among other things, we chat about wanting to rescue a sloth (her first big project as a kid), how social media algorithms work, seeking approval from people who don’t care about us, being addicted to drama, being an entrepreneur (it chooses us), under-estimating our own power and potential, imposter syndrome, falling apart on the floor of the shower, online nasty-ness and lots more.
