Show Notes

Katie Spotz is an adventurer and the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean (4,534 km). Did I say... row… a boat…alone? No support boat! No medical support. Whales. Sharks. Flying fish (really). Huge waves and swells. Dehydrated meals. Making fresh water using a desalinator. Extreme heat (she was near the equator). Ever-present pain from rowing all day, every day. A high chance of failing (as most have done) and reasonable chance of dying (as some have done). When you consider that the distance from Melbourne to Perth is a tiny 3,420 km, you get an idea of the enormity of Katie’s achievement. Enjoy.
