In 1961, a Liverpool city bus on route 79 took a mysterious detour through Wavertree after encountering a diversion sign that shouldn’t have been there. As the bus stalled on a deserted road, nine hooded figures surrounded it—and one reportedly appeared inside without opening a door, hypnotizing the passengers into a trance. Only a teenage girl escaped, bringing police to the scene.
