Chef Dewi was born in Surabaya, Indonesia and immigrated to Queens, New York in the late '90s. She started out making food for her coworkers, eventually ran her own restaurant, and currently serves amazing Indonesia food at Warung Selasa. Chef Dewi serves her food only on Tuesday nights in the back of the Indonesian grocery store, Indo Java. She operates out of a tiny kitchen and serves only two tables. She has been featured by CNN, The New York Times, and has had videos go viral around the world.
