Reading 2 Chronicles 23 for Tuesday, September 9th. The king’s remaining son was pronounced king, and the queen was not happy about it. Then the queen was killed and all the high places were torn down and the priest of Baal was killed as well.

Reading 2 Chronicles 22 for Monday, September 8th. The king was assassinated, but an heir was saved from the queen by his sister in a room for six years.

Reading 2 Chronicles 21 for Saturday, September 6th. Jehoram was a bad king who was left alive only to preserve David’s lineage, but was not even honored in death with a proper burial location. Moreover, his bowels fell out with great pain.

Reading 2 Chronicles 20 for Friday, September 5th. Jehoshaphat knows who to turn to when war was being waged against his kingdom, but he did not choose his allies and business partnerships well.

Reading 2 Chronicles 19 for Thursday, September 4th. Jehoshaphat is under God’s wrath, but there is still some good in him.

Reading 2 Chronicles 18 for Wednesday, September 3rd. Ahab goes into battle with mostly bad advice, then dies.

Reading 2 Chronicles 17 for Tuesday, September 2nd. A good king is blessed by God as he does the right things.

Reading 2 Chronicles 16 for Monday, September 1st. King Asa loses his military allies and is cursed to be continually be at war because he did not trust God for his strength. Reading 2 Corinthians 2 for Saturday, August 30th. Don’t be too harsh with those who have been reprimanded. Bring them comfort and encourage them to get back on track. We don’t peddle the word of God for profit, we gladly share it as men sent from God.

Reading 2 Corinthians 1 for Friday, August 29th. Paul writes about comfort, and his brush with death in Asia.

Reading 1 Corinthians 16 for Thursday, August 28th. Paul writes about how to save contributions up for supporting the leaders and missionaries and instructs them to welcome Timothy and Apollos. Thanks are given to the faithful leaders who use their house to host the church meetings. Lots of encouragement.

Reading 1 Corinthians 15 for Wednesday, August 27th. Paul writes to remind the believers at Corinth of the gospel, that resurrection from the dead is possible, and that one’s resurrection body is not the same as our current body. Encouragement is also included that our labor is not in vain.

Reading 1 Corinthians 14 for Tuesday, August 26th. Paul writes to discuss the role of speaking in tongues and prophesy in the church.

Reading 2 Chronicles 14 for Saturday, August 23rd. Asa was a king that actually trusted God and prayed to Him, as well as taking down the high places where detestable worship of non gods took place. God gave Asa victory against his enemy.

Reading 2 Chronicles 13 for Friday, August 22nd. Rehoboam opposes Jeroboam in battle and states the position each of them have. Jeroboam has more men, Rehoboam has God’s favor. Jeroboam dies in battle and Rehoboam captures more cities and has lots of children and wives.

Reading 2 Chronicles 12 for Thursday, August 21st. Rehoboam ignored God and was attacked by Shishak, the king of Egypt. He repented and was spared from total destruction. Rehoboam did some good, but certainly was not a great king.

Reading 2 Chronicles 11 for Wednesday, August 20th. Rehoboam wanted to regain control of his kingdom, but God had a different plan, asking them to go back home. Jeroboam started idol worship and appointed new priests after the Levites left. Rehoboam had a fast growing family and walked in David’s ways.

Reading 2 Chronicles 10 for Tuesday, August 19th. Rehoboam is the new king. The Israelites ask for a break from their labor expectations, but are given a harsh reply, so they become disillusioned. Taking advice from childhood buddies and ignoring advice from the elders does not prove to be profitable.

Reading 2 Chronicles 9 for Monday, August 18th. Solomon impressed the Queen of Sheba with his wisdom and accomplishments. Many rulers gave generous gifts to Solomon, and Solomon was a generous giver as well. After forty years of reigning, he died.

Reading 2 Chronicles 8 for Saturday, August 16th. Solomon took over some cities, finished the temple, appointed Israelite men to lead, and foreigners to be led. He made a separate place for Pharaoh’s (unholy) daughter to stay. People did what they were told in detail.

Reading 2 Chronicles 7 for Friday, August 15th. God filled the temple with his glory. Lots of sacrifices were made, and God tells Solomon what will happen to the temple if Israel worships other gods.

Reading 2 Chronicles 6 for Thursday, August 14th. Solomon publicly prays for the temple and for Israel.

Reading 2 Chronicles 5 for Wednesday, August 13th. God moves into His new place. Everybody celebrates and worships with sacrifice and music.

Reading 2 Chronicles 4 for Tuesday, August 12th. Huram made furnishings of bronze and gold for the Temple.

Reading 2 Chronicles 3 for Monday, August 11th. Solomon begins work on building God’s temple and gives a few measurements (in cubits) as to how big things are that he’s building.

Reading 2 Chronicles 2 for Saturday, August 9th. Solomon organizes people for the Temple construction and negotiates with King Hiram for various types of logs and experienced craftsmen.

Reading 2 Chronicles 1 for Friday, August 8th. Solomon asks for wisdom and knowledge to govern Israel. God delivers more than that.

Reading 1 Chronicles 29 for Thursday, August 7th. David gives much of his fine gold and stones to the project, and invites others to do the same. Solomon is affirmed as king. David prays and then dies.

Reading 1 Chronicles 28 for Wednesday, August 6th. David tells Solomon, and his subjects the plans, provisions, responsibilities, and the promises of God regarding the plans for the temple.

Reading 1 Chronicles 27 for Tuesday, August 5th. A list of army officers, and overseers chosen by lot.

Reading 1 Chronicles 26 for Monday, August 4th. A list of gatekeepers, treasurers and overseers chosen and appointed by lot.

Reading 1 Chronicles 25 for Saturday, August 2nd. The music team is formed by lot and those chosen include their sons and relatives.

Reading 1 Chronicles 24 for Friday, August 1st. Aaron’s sons had their responsibilities divided according to how many there were by lot.

Reading 1 Corinthians 13 for Thursday, July 31st. Love is a lot of things. Listen to review.

Reading 1 Corinthians 12 for Wednesday, July 30th. Everyone in Christ is an important part of the church body. Desire the gifts, but don’t brag about your gift, or belittle your role.

Reading 1 Corinthians 11 for Tuesday, July 29th. Should Women or men cover their heads? Are haircuts disgraceful? Why are people in church inconsiderate, greedy and lacking self-control? Paul shares his opinion and many are confused about how exactly they should apply this chapter to their lives.

Reading 1 Corinthians 10 for Monday, July 28th. Don’t make the same decisions many historical Israelites did and get punishment from God. We have freedom in Christ, but should not act in a way that does not benefit the advancement of God’s kingdom.

Reading 1 Corinthians 9 for Saturday, July 26th. Paul does his preaching and leadership ministries for free, even though he has the right to collect a living from it, because he does not want money to be an obstacle to the advancement of the gospel.

Reading 1 Chronicles 23 for Friday, July 25th. The Levites are listed with first born and how they and their work responsibilities are divided.

Reading 1 Chronicles 22 for Thursday, July 24th. David collects supplies and prepares his son for the building of the temple for God. He explains that God did not allow him to do it because of how much blood he shed in his lifetime.

Reading 1 Chronicles 21 for Wednesday, July 23rd. David sins by asking Joab to count all of the fighting men, and God gives David a message through Gad.

Reading 1 Chronicles 20 for Tuesday, July 22nd. David’s men prevail again against giants and men with more digits than the average man.

Reading 1 Chronicles 19 for Monday, July 21st. Those who assumed David and his men were enemies were wrong, but their actions made their beliefs come true.

Reading 1 Chronicles 18 for Saturday, July 19th. David defeated his enemies and was congratulated by and given gifts from the enemies of his enemies.

Reading 1 Chronicles 17 for Friday, July 18th. David feels compelled to build a temple for God, but God promises that a son of his will do it instead.

Reading 1 Chronicles 15 for Wednesday, July 16th. David moves the ark to Jerusalem the right way, and with music and dancing.

Reading 1 Chronicles 14 for Tuesday, July 15th. David inquires of God before each potential battle for direction.

Reading 1 Chronicles 13 for Monday, July 14th. A guy was struck dead by God because he tried to steady the ark of God with his hand. This upset David.

Reading 1 Chronicles 12 for Saturday, July 12th. Fighting soldiers and chiefs are listed among those who wanted David to be made king.
