In But here’s twist, this fog is temporary. By late morning, the sun starts winning the battle. Western Virginia? You’re looking at 80 degrees today. That’s nearly 35 degrees above normal for early March. Central Virginia climbs to 77. And even Hampton Roads—still shaking off that coastal chill—hits 70. A stubborn marine layer keeps the coast cooler longer. The catch? A few pop-up showers or even a rumble of thunder could sneak into Western Virginia this afternoon, especially near the Blue Ridge. Keep an eye on the sky around 1 P.M. Tonight, the warmth sticks around. Lows only dip to 64 in Central Virginia, 62 out west. And 58 along the coast—35 degrees above average. Winds shift to the southwest, gusting up to 15 miles an hour, keeping things mild. Sunday brings scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially south of I-64.
