Show Notes
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Virginia Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 23rd.
Folks, here's the deal. Virginia woke up boring today. And I mean that as a compliment. Forty five degrees from the Shenandoah Valley all the way to Virginia Beach. The entire state, same temperature. That almost never happens.
Now here's the thing. The wind tells a different story. Out in the western mountains, you're catching northwest gusts at 9 to 14 miles an hour. Enough to make that 45 feel more like 38. Drive east toward Richmond and it's barely a whisper, 3 to 9 miles an hour. Down in Hampton Roads, you're splitting the difference at 7 to 10.
Tonight, the whole state dips into the upper 20s. No drama. Just classic late February doing its thing. Bundle up if you're heading out after dark. That kind of cold sneaks up on you.
Saturday looks like a carbon copy. Highs near 45 degrees under partly cloudy skies. The weekend stays dry. There's only a slim chance of a stray shower, and I mean slim.
Here's your heads up for the week ahead. We're climbing. By Tuesday, you're seeing highs near 50 degrees. That's the kind of slow warm up that actually sticks. And here's something to smile about. We're gaining almost three extra minutes of daylight every single day now. You'll notice it at dinner time. The sun is fighting back.
One quick note. Air quality today is moderate. If you've got sensitive lungs, maybe keep the jog easy. Perfect weather for a long walk instead.
Alright. If you're enjoying these morning updates, share us with a friend. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.
Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
