Down in Hampton Roads, mostly sunny skies today but only 42 degrees. Tonight clouds thicken and winds pick up, gusting to 22 miles an hour. Wednesday brings a slight chance of rain with highs near 54 degrees. But Thursday? Rain moves in and stays. Highs near 56 degrees, but with that rain it'll feel cooler. Out in Western Virginia, you're starting coldest at 25 degrees at 6 A.M. By 3 P.M. You climb to 44 degrees. Tonight clouds increase with a slight chance of rain and snow. Wednesday jumps to 57 degrees. Thursday brings rain with temperatures holding at 57. Looking at the week ahead. Rain dominates Thursday and Friday with temperatures in the 50s. Saturday brings sunshine back. Central Virginia hits 61 degrees, Hampton Roads 50. And Western Virginia soars to 66. Sunday stays mild, but Monday brings another system. Rain and snow return with temperatures dropping back to the 40s. One bright spot: we're gaining daylight fast. Two minutes and 20 seconds more today. Sunrise at 6:49 A.M., sunset at 5:59 P.M. Keep those umbrellas handy this week. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
