Show Notes

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Vermont Weather Podcast for Monday, February 23rd. That nor'easter shifted south, but don't get comfortable.. Vermont's still catching a punch. Snow rolls in statewide by 11 A.M. And folks, the southern part of the state is about to get buried. Southern Vermont takes the worst of it. Snow and blowing snow from 11 A.M. Through 5 P.M. You're looking at 3 to 5 inches. Highs barely touch 23 degrees around noon, then the bottom drops out. By 8 A.M. Tuesday you're at 7 degrees. Winds swing northwest around 9 P.M. And wind chills hit minus 5 by morning. That's frostbite territory on bare skin. Drive north on Route 100 into central Vermont and the snow eases up. Just a dusting to half an inch. Still gusty though. North winds around 12 miles an hour. You'll hit 31 degrees near 2 P.M. Before sliding to 10 degrees by 7 A.M. Tuesday. Wind shifts northwest around 10 P.M. Now push into the Northeast Kingdom. You're splitting the difference. One to 2 inches through 6 P.M. Highs near 28 degrees around noon. Lows tumble to 10 degrees by 8 A.M. Tuesday. Winds swing northwest around 2 A.M. Here's your week ahead. Wednesday brings round two. Another 3 to 5 inches possible in southern Vermont. Central and the Kingdom see 1 to 2 inches. Then something wild happens. By Saturday, highs rocket into the 40s statewide. Mud season teaser right there. But Sunday snaps us back. Low 30s with a slight chance of snow. Classic February head fake. Keep those phone chargers handy tonight. Cold like this drains batteries almost as fast as it drains your patience. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
