Show Notes

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Vermont Weather Podcast for Monday, February 23rd. That nor'easter is finally done with us.. But it left a parting gift. The south is buried. The north is bone dry. And tonight? Everybody freezes. Down in southern Vermont, you're digging out. Temperatures hit 20 degrees around 5 P.M., then the bottom drops out. By 8 A.M. Tomorrow you're at 7 degrees. Wind chills pushing minus 2. That's frostbite territory, folks. Cover every inch of skin if you're shoveling. Now push north on Route 100 into central Vermont. You've got a sneaky little snow burst rolling through between midnight and 4 A.M. Maybe half an inch. Nothing dramatic, but enough to slick the roads. Winds swing northwest around 10 P.M., so it'll feel raw. You're starting at 26 degrees this evening and waking up to 10. Over in the Northeast Kingdom, it stays dry but wicked cold. Highs near 25 degrees at 5 P.M., crashing to 10 by morning. Wind chills dip to minus 2. Your car battery is going to hate you tomorrow. Now the week ahead tells a wild story. The first half stays locked in winter's grip. Wednesday a clipper swoops through. One to three inches of light snow. Quick and messy. Thursday and Friday hold steady in the cold.. Then Saturday happens. Highs near 40 degrees in the south. Mid 40s up north. February acting like April. You might actually unzip your jacket. But don't get too comfortable. Sunday slams us back to the 20s with snow chances. Classic Vermont whiplash. I'll be tracking that Wednesday clipper overnight. Charge your phone, top off the tank. And let your faucets drip tonight. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
