Show Notes

Good evening. Vermont. I'm Aaron Jolly. That gray sky at 31 degrees feels heavy, doesn't it? it's the quiet before a messy night. We've a Winter Weather Advisory up for southern Vermont until 5 A.M. Wednesday, as snow flips to a wintry mix. In the next 24 hours. Here's the timeline. Snow arrives statewide right around 8 P.M. Tonight. Central and Northeast Vermont pick up 1 to 3 inches before midnight. Southern Vermont sees a coating to an inch before the changeover begins. Sleet and freezing rain could glaze the roads by early morning, so take it slow on the commute. Overnight, temperatures settle in the upper 20s. But then the sun returns tomorrow. Highs climb to 41 in the south, 43 in the northeast. And 46 degrees in central Vermont. That's a solid 19 degrees warmer than usual for early March — a real taste of spring. Thursday stays mild in the mid-40s, but another system slides in Thursday night. Freezing rain is possible, especially in central and southern Vermont. That could make for some slick travel come Friday morning. Then the pattern really flips. Saturday brings rain and a surge of warmth, with highs near 55 degrees. We stay mild through Tuesday, running 15 to 20 degrees above normal. Our snowpack is going to take a hit. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset. If the clouds break, it will light up the fresh snow beautifully. We're gaining over 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Spring is just 17 days away. Keep an eye on those back roads tonight. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
