Today, we address the free speech threats animal rights rights activists face everyday, from social media censorship and reputational harm to detention. We will explore the risks of talking for animals in a world where animal exploitation is the norm.
To discuss this topic, I have with me Dr. Faraz Harsini and Madeline Krasno, two targets of free speech attacks.
Dr. Faraz is the Founder and CEO of Allied Scholars for Animal Protection (ASAP), a non-profit which mentors and supports animal advocates. He is also a Cultivated Meat Bioprocessing Senior Scientist at the Good Food Institute.
Madeline is a returning guest of the show! She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Justify, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing science without human or animal suffering. Justify provides a supportive space for current and former lab workers to share their stories and aims to shine a light on the realities of animal research.
