HRT 033 – aka Gabrielle – caused a sensation when it debuted during the 1996 ATCC, featuring a CAD-designed roll cage with a distinctive ‘Petty Bar’ that was subsequently banned from being used in any other car. We chat about the car’s incredibly successful – yet surprisingly brief – competitive life, its two sizable shunts, and where it is on the road to restoration.
