Last week, an underground pedophile ring was caught using Instagram as a method of communication between child abusers.
The Wall Street Journal reports that researchers found that Instagram enabled people to connect them to accounts that used terms to advertise child-sex material for sale and that pedophilic accounts use the cheese pizza emoji as pedophile code and some of these accounts “bore the indications of sex trafficking.”
The platform has been proliferated with child abusers, human traffickers and other perverts and allows them to buy and sell child pornography, and sometimes, set up meet-ups between pedophiles and children caught by human traffickers.
