The Tim Weichselbaum Show
100 episodes — Page 2 of 2
Ep 69Ep. 69 | 690 Minute Trauma-thon!
ETo celebrate 69 episodes I decided to go for 690 minutes straight. If you're going on a road trip to Oregon this podcast is for you! Sometimes it takes a few hours to get into the flow state. By hour seven, I was pretty warmed up. This high quantity content is for entertainment purposes only. Viewer discretion is advised. Video version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqtvKqMhUQU
Ep 68Ep. 68 | How to Be a Good Narcissist
EBeing a narcissist is a lonely, depressing existence for about 99% of them. But the 1% who are getting everything they want are as happy as a clam. You've probably heard of them because they're famous. This episode is a regression back to how I was when I first started this podcast. No humility needed, let's get down to the bottom of what Tim, and other Jewish men really want out of life. Video version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiRZE77GU-w
Ep 67Ep. 67 | Comedian Talha Usman
ETalha Usman is a comedian based in Austin, Texas. He was nice enough to stop by to make his podcasting debut and to discuss stand-up and show business. Talha Usman on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/talha15/ Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w04gXLkwjYE
Ep 66Ep. 66 | Strengthen Your Prefrontal Cortex
EI'm doing my best to train my brain to get its reward from the work itself, rather than the admiration that comes from it. That is probably for the best, since most of my work is not admirable. I'm happy with the progress I'm making on this podcast in terms of self-improvement, but I'm still having a hard time avoiding public embarrassment. Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQJ34zW5pAU
Ep 65Ep. 65 | Become Your Biggest Fan
EHow the heck you gonna expect anyone else to be your fan if you aren't even a fan of yourself? That's the main subject of this episode. Motivation to be an artist has to come from within. You have to believe what you are doing is fantastic, and maybe then other people will like it too. If you don't get enjoyment out of making the art, you can't be too surprised if other people don't enjoy it, either. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izt8XrHEkjM
Ep 64Ep. 64 | Comedian Thai Rivera
EThai Rivera is absolute Best LGBTQ Comedian in the World. He was kind enough to join me in my studio to talk about the benefits of working out, dog ownership, being your true self on stage, Milo Yiannopoulos, and a few other hot button issues. I was honored to have him as a guest. Thai Rivera on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/thairivera Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZWTpWqCGCY
Ep 63Ep. 63 | Getting Intense w/ Michael Malamud
EMy guest this week and I have a tense conversation about his opinions on my personality and behavior. Michael and I have a complicated relationship. I have empathy for him, and we get along at times. This was not one of those times. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhZPA_29i3I
Ep 62Ep. 62 | Thanks for the Love
EMichael Malamud and I work out the kinks in our podcasting relationship and discuss ADHD and medication, neurodivergence, and the pain of not getting things you think you deserve. It was a colorful episode where we look underneath the microscope at each other's psychology and way of thinking. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhZPA_29i3I
Ep 61Ep. 61 | Michael Malamud Greases Us With His Presence
EMichael Malamud joins me as my first guest in a long time to create synergistic podcasting magic. I met Michael in Chicago many years ago in the stand-up scene and we have a lot in common. We've recorded a lot of podcasts in the past years, but not all of them have been released. This is one of the rare episodes that shall be released to the masses. I was on his podcast as Timmy Gusto recently, which is called Unsettling in with Michael Malamud. Michael's podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/048rwjyTt1wjyC5oiCTg3p Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJQ0uvbM6zk
Ep 60Ep. 60 | Taking off the Mask
EI've decided to stop being a fake person on this episode and it was the hardest thing I've ever tried to do on this podcast. I'm more comfortable wearing a mask, both literally and figurately, even if it's the one Ye wears, because even that is better than being myself. I'm going through a very difficult period in my life mentally. I've stopped using some of my dopaminergic vices and this is forcing me to face my true demons. I have no choice but to improve from here, one day at a time. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If8FSUhjpgI
Ep 59Ep. 59 | My Reluctant Return to Chicago
EI finally decided to visit Chicago after moving to Texas a year and a half ago. I was reluctant because there are not too many things I missed about that place. It has a very cold climate this time of the year, and the politics of the people who live there are very skewed from reality. But I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth I felt from the comedians there who remembered me. I was offered spots on many shows, and I delivered on most of them. My comedy is not for everyone, so it takes a lot of commitment to sell it. I hope to visit again in a couple of years. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OPgbXjavjk
Ep 58Ep. 58 | Arguing with Homeless People
EI can complain for hours about how I don't like talking to disrespectful mentally ill people who refuse to take their meds. This time I kept it to around an hour of that. I also complain about women, ala Kevin Samuels, and talk about how even while on mushrooms, I'm still an a-hole. They just make me lean into it even more. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6liDkkwTTpM
Ep 57Ep. 57 | Bombing Like a Pro
EI don't just bomb when I bomb. I leave a smoldering crater where the stage used to be. The energy of the room will never be the same. If the audience doesn't like me, I make it so they remember me forever. People are nice though, and usually don't tell me how bad I did afterwards. They just politely pretend I'm invisible. Usually just means they aren't talented enough to understand my style. I'm the next Bill Hicks. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0JthSiVfJo
Ep 56Ep. 56 | Give Life Hell
ELife is hell, so you should return the favor by giving hell back to it. You only get so much time on this planet to do so. Might as well be memorable. I'm not saying you should do anything violent. That would make you a bad person and remembered in a bad way. Maybe you don't believe in good and evil. That's fine, but some of us here are medicated and don't want to be shot by some crazy dude. I mean to be hell in a positive, creative, high risk way. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA53-1EDIZU More fun stuff: https://instagram.com/timweichselbaum
Ep 55Ep. 55 | I Don’t Know Who You Are
EDon't be rude to other people in the same field as you, even if they are insufferable. It will only make you look bad. People won't forget you if you say something mean to them and suddenly gain some heat. That will make them resent you even more. Treat people how you would want to be treated. Full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo0uv9hhAlc More fun: https://instagram.com/timweichselbaum
Ep 54Ep. 54 | Sleep Apnea is a B*tch
EThe past couple of days have been rough, but I'm tough. I'm a survivor. It will take a lot to bring me down. I visited my parents for Thanksgiving and it reminded me that I'm thankful for the few remaining family I have. This was a bit of an emotional episode, but it ends on a high note. Video format: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAQkgmqjef8 Follow me on IG: https://instagram.com/timweichselbaum
Ep 53Ep. 53 | The Only Guest is Ye
EThe only guest who will appear on this podcast is Yeezus. Once I get Yhandi on the program, I will be open to having other high profile guests, like Elon Musk, etc. I'm setting my sights high. I'm currently the hardest working man in the Austin comedy scene, so I'm not worried about achieving this lofty goal. Kanye needs a friend like me, and I will actually let him talk. The ideas he and millions of other people have raised aren't going anywhere until we become mature enough as a species to talk about them with reason. Follow me on IG, won't ya? That's where I post the sexiest reels. @TimWeichselbaum
Ep 52Ep. 52 | Stop Grinding, Start Hustling
ECreativity is not something you can achieve with grind mentality. It's like a flower and needs the right amount of water, food, and sunlight. Being an artist is a fragile pursuit and thus shouldn't be approached with brute force. That is true for stand-up comedy, which is not merely a craft. It is in fact an art as well, and should be treated as such. Start working smart instead of bumping your head against the wall. Don't surround yourself by people who don't understand your vision or brand. Stick to your creative guns and do your best. You'll be glad you did. Ep 51Ep. 51 | How the Sausage is Made
EHow the heck do you become a professional comedian or podcaster? That's what this episode is about. I ain't making money from this yet, but I know what I have to do to make that happen. I go into great detail on what it means to be a professional stand-up comedian, getting better at podcasting, Kill Tony, and not letting other people hoard power over you. Ep 50Ep. 50 | Making it and Dealing with Jealousy
ECelebrate the 50th episode of this program with me in my bedroom. This is a very intimate episode where I talked earnestly about ADHD, narcissism, jealousy, and becoming a professional entertainer. I'm officially making this my main career, so buckle up. Either this is going to be a successful podcast, or I will go bankrupt. The pressure is on! Ep 49Ep. 49 | The Voice of My Grandfather
EThis episode marks the one year anniversary of when I began doing this. I continue to document my ADHD recovery journey and the pursuit for the best medicine. I go into way too much detail about perfect pitch, a very esoteric topic. I also reveal why my late Grandfather is the most inspirational figure in my life. I played some clips from an interview he did in 1989 about his take on surviving the Holocaust. I'm very proud of him and decided it was the right time to share his story on this platform. If I don't, who else will? Nobody else in my family has a podcast. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 48Ep. 48 | Blame It On The ADHD
EThis was a very long episode where I stood the whole time. You can clearly tell that I'm an on dopaminergic drugs. I am more confident than ever, and almost one year sober (from alcohol). I'm now on a drug that's more addictive than alcohol, but weirdly makes you a better driver. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 47Ep. 47 | A Twinkle in Time
EThis was a very fun episode to record. It took me a bit to get into the flow of the episode, but once I did, I didn't want to stop. I will be reentering society soon hopefully, or at least becoming more productive in reaching some goals. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 46Ep. 46 | Closer to c
EI'm still coming up with the description for this episode. It was not a good one. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 45Ep. 45 | Make Your Dreams a Habit

Ep 43Ep. 43 | Touching Base
ESubscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 42Ep. 42 | Bed Bath & Beyond
EI took a plunge into the wall street bets meme stock BBBY. I enjoy gambling sometimes and I'm not ashamed to say this, because I only gamble with a small amount. I'm not a degenerate at this stage in my life. I'm a responsible god fearing American who doesn't want to bother anyone. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 41Ep. 41 | Spiders and ETFs
ETexas is the Australia of North America, and I'm starting to question if I am tough enough to make it here. Nature is brutal and scary, and I had my first run in with a brown recluse. I also started on antidepressants, which are helping me cope with all this. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 40Ep. 40 | Kyle Visits the Studio
EKyle is my younger brother and he is visiting from Chicago. I got him drunk and then asked him to do this podcast. I'm very glad he agreed because I think we make a good podcasting duo. Subscribe on Apple, Google, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 39Ep. 39 | How To Win at Capitalism
EThis episode is about boring financial stuff like investing in index funds and building intergenerational wealth. In other words, how to be good at capitalism. I also check in on my progress with binge eating. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 38Ep. 38 | Why Things are 2D
EIn this episode I talk about childhood memories, the importance of dreaming, the geometry of the universe, and my obsession with trying to become a content creator on TikTok. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 36Ep. 36 | Jack Horner
EJack Horner sits down to talk about the heaviness of sobriety, ADHD, Kill Tony, and many other topics, all of which resonated deeply with the themes of the podcast. I learned a couple new words. Ep 35Ep. 35 | The Extinction of Cashews
EOne of the main topics of this podcast is self-improvement, and there are various things I'm trying to improve about myself. Right now my project is trying to overcome my undiagnosed binge eating disorder (BED). I eat to fill an emotional hole in my life, to the point of discomfort and shame. This occurs almost every day, and I'm getting sick of it. I need to work on treating my mental health if I want to be a professional comedian. I want to become fat adapted to hopefully clear up the brain fog that is stopping me from performing at my full potential. There's nothing worse than knowing you are not performing at the level you once were capable of. Ep 34Ep. 34 | What Did He Say About Me?
EI heard you were talking to so and so. Did he say anything about me? I need to know exactly what he said, word for word. This is the type of question you get asked when you're around people trying to climb the social ladder. I didn't think the Austin comedy scene would be so political. Too many Californians moved here that it feels like how people describe Los Angeles. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 33Ep. 33 | Ryan Joseph Visits the Studio
ERyan Joseph is a comedian from Miami, FL. He moved to Austin in 2021 and quickly rose to the top of the scene. I've been tracking his career trajectory since I moved here, so it was a pleasure having him as my first in-studio guest. We cover a lot of topics including cancel culture, Joe Rogan, and what it feels like to be jerked around by gatekeepers. He has a podcast called The Ryan Joseph Show, which you can subscribe to on YouTube. Ep 32Ep. 32 | Nine Years a Comic
EI did a road gig with some of my favorite comics. I gotta step up my game and become undeniable so I can keep doing shows. Being an open miker for nine years is not good for ones self esteem. I was dealt a bad hand in life and deserve to have a successful career. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 31Ep. 31 | Sebastian Miniscalco
EMy new stage name is Timmy Gusto, and I have to stick with it. You can only change your stage name so many times before people think you are running from the law. I have an accent that sounds like Sebastian Maniscalco, and people are telling me to stop doing it. I'm a loyal friend to those who are my true friends. I got up on Kill Tony again. Ep 30Ep. 30 | Getting off the Ego Rollercoaster
EBeing a comedian means you are subject to riding the ego rollercoaster. It is a ride that causes a lot of emotional whiplash. Mushrooms are a great tool to use when you want to take get off this ride for a while. I love doing stand-up comedy, and would do it every day if I could. It takes doing it every day to become and stay good at it. But in practice, that isn't always possible. Some people like to gatekeep others just to feel relevant. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 29Ep. 29 | Life is Chaos
ESome of the audio from this episode is missing and there are some abrupt edits, as my computer randomly glitched out while recording the audio. Comedians are supposed to entertain people and offer an escape from their boring, stressful lives. Life is chaotic and depressing for most people, and a comedian should know that and use it to their advantage. I've been suffering from poor sleep quality and depression, and that is making it tough to pursue my passions at the intensity I'd like. Just because I have the freedom to pursue them, doesn't mean I have the ability. But I know that if I can successfully treat this ailment, I'll maybe start to reach my potential as a comedian. Even if you focus on nothing but stand-up comedy every day, that doesn't guarantee success. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 28Ep. 28 | Introverted Comedians
EMost people who pursue stand-up comedy are not introverts. They are loud jerks who want to be famous. Most people who perform on comedy shows are just on the show because they're good at socializing. Real comedians tend to be introverts who are afraid to ask for free stuff. So when you are a talented comic, and are also getting gigs, that is a rare and a beautiful thing. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 27Ep. 27 | Comedy Pecking Order
EI gotta stop letting newer comics bully me. I hate when a new comic says something that implies we are equal, when in fact I am way better than them. It is not an ego thing, it's just something that needs to be done to keep people in check and from making me not like them. If you are new at comedy, you need to respect your elders. Don't you ever touch me. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 26Ep. 26 | The Kill Tony Experience
EThis episode is filled with rage about being resented for being young, hot, and successful. It's not my fault I worked hard and made something of myself. You are the one who made it weird, not me. I also talk about how I got up on Kill Tony for the first time and did the Death Squad Secret Show. I officially no longer regret my decision to move to Austin to pursue comedy. Watch my Kill Tony appearance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUZCswLMU3s Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow Follow me on IG: https://instagram.com/timmygusto
Ep 25Ep. 25 | BJ Therapy
EI live in Roganwood, or as most people call it, Austin, Texas. I have been going out every single day for the past few weeks to pursue my dreams to become a stand-up comedian. It's going mediocre. I still haven't figured out how to be funny since COVID, but being humbled isn't a bad thing. I also almost paid someone $100 to suck their own dick on stage. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 24Ep. 24 | Comedy Capital of the World
EOn this episode I talk what it takes to be a comedian, and how you have to keep plowing forward to get somewhere in life. You can't just be on the side of the road stuck in the mud, judging the people who are actually participating in the marathon. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 23Ep. 23 | If Society Was a Person
EThere are a lot of people who don't know how to think, and this episode is one where I don't hold back. We live in a post Will Smith smacking world, and it's a weird time to be a comedian. Thankfully, I'm not one. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 22Ep. 22 | Roadside (Ass)istance
EI tried driving to Houston again for the second time, this time I couldn't make it because my electric vehicle malfunctioned one hour into the trip. This gave me an opportunity to be a male Karen, which is something I'm getting good at. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 21Ep. 21 | Pumping that Ego Fuel
EIf you switched bodies with someone, would anything happen? Would you feel yourself physically move into that person's body? Or would nothing happen at all, since we're all the same consciousness, just in different bodies? That is the question this episode is centered around. Ego is an illusion, might as well enjoy the ride. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 20Ep. 20 | Ugly Tinder Confidence
EI am slowly learning how to regain my confidence as a young man of sexual vitality. I learned how to get matches on Tinder again, turns out the key was to not try. I uploaded the ugliest pictures in my phone and got 9 matches. This podcast is not a waste of time. Subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite platform: https://linktr.ee/twshow
Ep 19Ep. 19 | The Autistic Karaoke Singer
EIn this episode I reflect on learning to socialize while sober, autism spectrum disorder, getting into confrontations in public, tailgaters, going to the gun range, and getting underwear thrown at me while singing karaoke.
