Good morning. Texas. I'm Aaron Jolly. Happy Texas Independence Day, folks! If you're planning a celebration. South Texas is bringing the heat. You're looking at 91 degrees today — a staggering 54 degrees above normal. That's sizzling for early March. Up toward Dallas and North Texas, you catch a bit of a break with highs near 78. Central Texas warms up to 84. And down along the Gulf Coast, you'll hit 82 under mostly cloudy skies. In the next 24 hours. That cloud cover is hiding a dense fog advisory this morning. If you're commuting near Galveston Bay or the Bolivar Peninsula, visibility is down to a quarter mile or less until 10 A.M. Take it slow out there. A cold front is stalling out over North Texas. And that's where things get interesting. Showers and thunderstorms develop after noon across North and Central Texas. Watch the sky between 5 P.M. and midnight. A few storms could pack hail and gusty winds. Tonight stays mild with lows from 65 to 69. South Texas only dips to 69. Tomorrow stays warm, but the pattern shifts this weekend. We're looking at increasing rain chances Friday through Sunday, with some areas possibly seeing an inch of rain. Spring is knocking on our door. We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight every single day. Plus, tonight's full moon should be spectacular if the clouds cooperate. Enjoy the record warmth while it lasts. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
