In the next 24 hours. So what's going on? A southeast flow is pumping Gulf moisture straight into the state like somebody left the oven door open. That's why South Texas hit 90 degrees today. 57 degrees above normal. Overnight lows barely dipped to 72. Your AC is already earning its paycheck. But there's a plot twist coming. A cold front is sliding south out of Oklahoma right now. It stalls across North Texas by tomorrow evening. And that's where things get interesting. Down in South Texas, you felt the full force today. Ninety degrees with southeast gusts hitting 30 miles an hour. That sticky, heavy air isn't going anywhere tonight. Along the Gulf Coast, 82 degrees with showers possible by midweek. Slide up to Central Texas and you topped out at 84. Thunderstorms develop there after noon Wednesday. Now push north toward Dallas Fort Worth. You saw 78 degrees today, but that stalled front puts you in the crosshairs. Storm chances peak between 4 P.M. and midnight Wednesday. Some of those storms could pack hail and gusty winds.
