Show Notes
Good evening. Texas. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Step outside right now and you feel it immediately. That heavy, sticky blanket of Gulf moisture. We're sitting at 83 degrees under mainly clear skies, which is a full 52 degrees warmer than our usual March high. It's stifling out there, folks. But here's the thing: the atmosphere is loading up. A Tornado Watch is active until midnight for the Panhandle. We're officially in the busy season.
Down along the Gulf Coast, tonight stays mild and mostly cloudy. You'll only drop to about 70 degrees, with southeast winds staying busy at 15 miles an hour. Friday, you climb back to 82. Just a heads up—showers and thunderstorms become possible after 3 P.M. Rain chances linger into Friday night with a low near 71.
In South Texas, you're seeing the real heat. Highs top out near 91 degrees. That's 52 degrees above normal, so keep the water handy. Tonight stays mostly cloudy with a low around 69. Friday stays hot. Partly sunny skies give way to a chance of storms, cooling you to about 70 Friday night.
Central Texas, tonight brings mostly cloudy skies and a low around 68. A few storms may pop after 3 A.M. Friday, you reach 84. Rain showers are likely before 3 P.M., then storms return. You hold at 68 Friday night.
Up in North Texas, you're currently at 79 degrees. Tonight, look for mainly cloudy skies with a low around 67. Friday brings a high near 80. Showers and storms become likely by late afternoon. You cool down to 60 Friday night.
Here's your outlook for the week ahead. We enter a severe weather pattern this weekend. A cold front stalls Saturday, bringing widespread rain and storms. Heavy rain and flash flooding are the main concerns Saturday through Sunday. We dry out slightly Monday, but another system brings storm chances back by Tuesday. By late next week, we settle back into sunshine.
Charge those phones now and keep the weather alerts on tonight. See you tomorrow.
