Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.
Folks. February is going out dressed like April. A big high pressure dome is sitting right on top of us, trapping warm Gulf air underneath and shoving every cold front out of the picture. The result? Temperatures running a full 56 degrees above normal. South Texas could touch 88 degrees today. That's not a typo.
In the next 24 hours. But first. The catch. That same warm moisture is painting fog across the coast this morning. A Dense Fog Advisory runs through 9 A.M. For coastal counties. If you're driving early, slow down and give yourself extra time.
Down in South Texas, once that fog lifts, it's pure sunshine and 88 degrees. Southeast winds gust to 24 miles an hour by afternoon. Your skin will feel every bit of it. Slather on sunscreen. UV index hits 6 today.
Over in Austin and San Antonio, fog burns off by 9 A.M. Then blue skies push you to 86 degrees. Tonight patchy fog creeps back after 3 A.M. Lows settle near 60.
Houston wakes up at 60 degrees wrapped in that coastal haze. It clears by mid morning. and you're looking at 81 degrees with a gentle southeast breeze.
Now head north to Dallas Fort Worth. You might catch a stray shower before noon, but skies clear fast. High of 83 degrees with breezy south winds gusting to 15 miles an hour.
Tonight statewide, fog develops again. Lows range from 57 up north to 63 down south.
Sunday looks like a carbon copy. Foggy mornings, sunny afternoons, low 80s across the board. Then the pattern shifts. That high slides east by Tuesday. An upper level trough drops into the Plains, bringing rain chances Wednesday and Thursday. Some thunderstorms are possible. Temperatures stay well above normal through it all.
In One more thing worth noting. Sunrise at 6, 59 A.M., sunset at 6:30 P.M. We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight every day now. Grab those sunglasses.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
