Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.
Folks, step outside and you might think someone fast-forwarded the calendar to May. Texas is running a serious fever today. We're staring at 86 degrees under brilliant sunshine. A full 56 degrees above where we should be in late February. The calendar says winter, but the thermometer is screaming spring.
In the next 24 hours. Here's the setup. A weak cold front slid off the Gulf Coast overnight, but it forgot to bring the cold. It just cleared out the clouds. Now high pressure is building overhead, acting like a heat pump. Gulf moisture rides back in on southerly winds tonight. and that sets the stage for some fog.
Down in South Texas, you're hitting 86 degrees with an east wind around 12 miles an hour. Patchy fog develops after midnight with a low of 61 degrees. Any fog burns off by 9 A.M. Saturday, sending you to a toasty 89 degrees.
Central Texas is also sitting at 86 degrees with light easterly winds. Watch for fog after 4 A.M., dipping to 56 degrees. Saturday stays sunny with another high of 86.
The Gulf Coast reaches 83 degrees this afternoon. Fog rolls in after 1 A.M., dropping to 58 degrees. Saturday brings more sun and a high of 81 degrees.
North Texas is the cool spot today at 80 degrees. You might see a sprinkle near the Red River late tonight, but most of that evaporates before hitting the ground. Low of 58, then 83 and sunny Saturday.
The weekend looks fantastic statewide. Both days bring morning fog, then sunshine and 80s. Perfect weather if you ask me.
Next week, the pattern shifts. Rain chances return Wednesday into Thursday as a storm system approaches. We could see strong storms by midweek. Tornado season is just two weeks away. and we're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight every day.
Charge those phones and fill up the gas tank before tonight. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.
