Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.
Step outside and you might need sunglasses. Summer is crashing the party in February. South Texas is leading the charge with a high near 89 degrees. That's a wicked 57 degrees above normal. Down in Houston and along the Gulf Coast, you're looking at 83 degrees. Central Texas follows closely with 85. Even up in North Texas around Dallas, you'll see the mercury climb to 80.
In the next 24 hours. Here's the catch. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 A.M. For the Gulf Coast. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile. If you're driving near the coast this morning, use your low beams. The fog burns off late this morning. Then, sunshine takes over statewide.
Tonight, skies stay mostly clear. Lows drop into the upper 50s across North and Central Texas. South Texas cools to the low 60s. The coast stays mild with a low around 60.
Looking ahead. The weekend stays hot. Saturday brings mostly sunny skies. Highs climb back into the 80s everywhere. South Texas could hit 90 again. Winds pick up out of the south.
Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. The pattern shifts mid-week. Rain chances return starting Tuesday. North Texas sees the best chance for storms. Highs stay warm. In the upper 70s and 80s.
We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight every day now. Spring is just three weeks away.
