Show Notes
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Tennessee Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.
Step outside right now and you're greeted by a mild 51 degrees. Gray skies overhead, but there's something gentle in the air. Spring's still three weeks out, but you can almost taste it.
West Tennessee gets the warmest seat in the house today.. Highs near 63 degrees. Rain rolls in around 6 P.M. and wraps up by midnight. Overnight lows drop to 49 degrees around 5 A.M., feeling more like 43.
Middle Tennessee climbs to 61 degrees by noon. Rain starts closer to 5 P.M. and sticks around through the night, heaviest around 9 P.M. Lows bottom out at 45 degrees around 5 A.M., feeling like 40.
East Tennessee runs cooler with a high of 54 degrees. Rain begins early.. Around 4 P.M. and doesn't quit until 5 A.M. The heaviest stuff hits around 2 A.M. If you're in the Smokies, gusts could punch up to 45 miles an hour through 10 A.M. A Wind Advisory is active there, so secure anything that might wander off.
Tomorrow keeps the showers going, especially out east. Highs hold in the low 60s statewide.
But here's where it gets good. Friday through Sunday looks spectacular. Sunshine returns. Highs climb from the mid-60s Friday to near 70 by Saturday. Perfect weekend for getting outside and remembering what warmth feels like.
Rain chances sneak back late Sunday into Monday, but temperatures stay mild.. Holding in the 60s all week.
Sunrise this morning was at 6:24. Sunset comes at 5:39. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Winter's losing its grip.
Grab the umbrella if you're out tonight. You'll need it.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
