Show Notes

Good morning. Tennessee. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might think we time-warped straight to July. That thick, humid air is sitting over Tennessee like a wet blanket. And you're going to want to dress in layers today. We're flirting with record highs—Nashville surges to **78 degrees**, while Knoxville and the Smokies actually hit **80 degrees**. That's a solid 38 degrees above normal for March. In But here's thing, all this heat is fuel for a weather showdown. West Tennessee gets the first punch. Memphis, you're in the bullseye—storms fire up as early as **7 A.M.** with heavy rain. You could see **1 to 2 inches** falling quickly, so watch for ponding on the roads during your morning commute. By late morning, the action shifts. Nashville, that line of strong thunderstorms marches in right around **11 A.M.** with gusty southwest winds hitting **25 miles an hour**. Expect a quick **three-quarters of an inch** of rain before it clears out tonight. East Tennessee, you get a reprieve until the afternoon. Storms hold off until after **3 P.M.**, but when they arrive, they bring gusts to **35 miles an hour**. If you're hiking in the Smokies, keep a close eye on the sky—those rumbles of thunder will be rolling in after dark. Looking ahead. Sunday gives us a brief break with highs in the upper 60s, but Monday through Wednesday brings more storms and a return to the 80s. We finally cool down to a crisp **58 degrees** on Thursday—feeling like March again. If you're headed out tonight, keep that umbrella handy. See you tomorrow. See you this afternoon.
