Show Notes
Good morning, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Tennessee Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 23rd.
Here's the deal. Tennessee is running a 30 degree temperature spread today. East to west, it's like driving from early spring into late winter and back again.
Let's start out west. Memphis and Jackson, you're waking up to a gorgeous day. Highs near 59 degrees. Sunshine. Light breeze. Perfect for getting outside. Slide east into Nashville and Middle Tennessee, and it gets even better. You're hitting 65 degrees this afternoon. That's the kind of warmth that makes you forget where you put your heavy coat.
Now here's the plot twist. Head over the plateau into Knoxville and East Tennessee, and the thermometer drops like a rock. Highs barely scratch 46 degrees. Showers are possible too. Light west winds, gray skies. Totally different day. If you're driving from Nashville to Knoxville today, pack layers. You'll need them.
Tonight calms down statewide. Lows settle into the 30s for most of you. East Tennessee dips into the upper 20s. Keep that in mind if you've got plants out.
Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Saturday cools slightly. West Tennessee holds the 50s, east stays in the 40s, but sunshine returns everywhere. Sunday warms back up with 60s possible out west and mid 50s in the east. Then a gradual warming trend carries us into midweek. We're talking 60s statewide by Wednesday. Rain chances stay low, though I'm watching a weak system that could sneak in late Wednesday.
One more bright spot. Sunrise lands at 6:33 this morning, sunset at 5:18. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every day now. You can feel it.
Alright, quick favor. If this forecast helped you plan your Friday, share it with someone who needs it. Word of mouth keeps us going.
Stay safe out there, folks. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
