Show Notes

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Tennessee Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th. That steady drumbeat on your roof? Nearly half an inch of rain fell overnight. And we're not done yet. You're waking up to 52 degrees and light drizzle, but thunderstorms are rolling through right now. East Tennessee, you're taking the hit. Showers and thunderstorms keep coming until noon, dropping 1 to 2 inches in spots. A Flood Advisory runs until 8:30 A.M. For Anderson, Campbell, Morgan, Roane. And Scott counties. Low-lying areas are seeing minor flooding, so watch those usual trouble spots. You top out at 60 degrees today, then patchy fog settles in tonight as temps fall to 43. Middle Tennessee, your storms wrap by 7 A.M. Clouds stick around through morning, but sunshine breaks through this afternoon. You hit 61 degrees. Tonight goes partly cloudy with a low of 40. West Tennessee, you're the warm winner. Storms clear out early. And you soar to 68 degrees this afternoon. That's nearly 39 degrees above normal for late February. Tonight brings partly cloudy skies and a low of 44. Here's your reward for this soggy morning.. Friday and Saturday look stunning. Sunny skies statewide with highs mid-60s to low 70s. Saturday could touch 74 in West Tennessee. Perfect for getting outside. Rain returns Sunday night and hangs around into early next week. But here's something to smile about — we're gaining over 2 minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just three weeks out. Stay dry this morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
