In this episode of the Teaching Journeys podcast, I sit down with Ainsley Cousin, a former student now pursuing her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling at Belmont University. Ainsley shares her path from undergrad to graduate school, discussing how her experiences, including navigating the challenges of Covid-19 and witnessing the need for mental health counseling, solidified her path. We also discuss the significant impact of professor-student relationships, the importance of being comfortable with discomfort, and the impacts of social media and current world affairs on the mental health of young adults.
Ainsley's Bio
Ainsley Cousin graduated from Utica University in May of 2023 with a bachelors in psychology and is currently a student at Belmont University studying for her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has a lot of of interest in adolescents ,young adults and their relationships and other life changing events and would love to use her education to further help those struggling.
