737: Know Your Value With Kate Bollanou
Kate Bollanou is an an Executive and Leadership Coach for women in the shipping industry. She also talks in conferences about women leadership and gender parity. Initially studied hospitality in Greece and after working in the industry in several countries, Kate decided to change career and go into shipping. She moved to England in 2010 for her masters in Shipping and Commercial Law and decided to stay. Within a month, she got a job as a shipbroker and stayed there for almost six years. While Kate was expecting her second child, she was made redundant. She decided not to let this bring her down, but instead, to take it as an opportunity to start her own business and help other women find their voice within this male-dominated industry. Kate shares how her experiences, changing her mindset and learning to know her value helped take action to create her successful business in a male dominated industry.
