Benefits of TS DBs:
- Compression for timestamps
- Write throughput because append-only writes
- Downsampling high precision for 7 days, then 10min summarizations for 3 months, then 1hr summaries
- Query patterns - Instead of SQL, Influx uses InfluxQL
