Jonathon is a composer and sound designer for fiction podcasts, games, and theatre. His specialty is using audio to distill complex concepts, create worlds, and bring stories to life for legendary creators. As the audio production lead for scripted podcasts at Spotify, he oversaw post-production, led engineering teams, sound designed, mixed, and recorded multiple #1 shows. Working with executive director Mimi O’Donnell, projects include Case 63 (starring Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac), Quiet Part Loud (with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions), The Two Princes, Motherhacker, Chompers, and Story Pirates. He also created the ComposerDad podcast, founded the NYC arts nonprofit Spark and Echo Arts, released several albums of music, toured the US with a solo theatre show, played in an iconic NYC absurdist comedy band, and collaborates with his wife, accomplished actor and theater-maker Emily Clare Zempel, on music and theater projects.
