Prof. Paul Moynagh joins Eamon to outline the implications of the new Covid-19 variant, the Omicron Variant or B.1.1.529, and gives an insight to what the changes are when compared to previous variants. He also talks about the need for greater global rollout of the vaccine and the hugely positive value of the anti-viral treatments that are being developed to treat those infected with Covid-19.


Professor Moynagh is the Head of the Department of Biology and the Director of the Human Health Research Institute at Maynooth University.
