In 2014, one of our Weird Book operatives conducted a study on Mergotz and stumbled upon a tape recorder hidden beneath a floorboard in an abandoned house in a nearby town. To our surprise, the recording contained the last testament of Dr. Chloe Mullins, a cultural anthropologist. It appears she was researching a phenomenon known as the "Last Fire" and became entangled with some questionable individuals.
