Ep 77The Silver Lyming: Episode 77 with Melinda Bernstein

In this episode, I interview Rabbi Melinda Bernstein. She shares her journey back to wellness from Lyme and tick-borne illness by focusing on mindfulness, herbs, and blood cleansing. Rabbi shares how the illness led to a greater connection with self, wealth, and a deeper understanding of the importance of health. We both agree that the key to healing lies in self-love and acceptance, and that it's not always easy to find this within oneself. Take a listen as Rabbi shares some great ways to do this and ultimately to HEAL. If you are interesting to work with Rabbi Bernstein, she does work with individuals as a transformation coach. You can find her at Sacred Vitality at [email protected]. Please like and subscribe to my channel to help others find this treasure trove of heling stories. They helped me so much on my journey, and I am grateful to be here to help others find the same.

Ep 80The Silver Lyming: Episode 80 with Bebe Pleasant

This week's episode features Bebe Pleasant. I came across Bebe's profile on TikTok where she is a strong educator on health-related topics and tick-borne illnesses. I was immediately captivated by her energy and grateful she was willing to share her story on this podcast. Bebe shares her personal journey with Lyme disease, starting with symptoms like double vision and anxiety as a child. She was misdiagnosed with IBS and ADD, and later suspected she had bipolar disorder. Bebe's symptoms worsened after a car accident in 2017, leading her to suspect mold toxicity. She underwent a detox program with Cell Core, which helped alleviate her symptoms. However, she was later diagnosed with Lyme disease and several co-infections. Bebe found a Lyme-literate therapist and coach who helped her with brain retraining and trauma work. She also tried Kambo, an Amazonian frog secretion that resets the body at a cellular level. Bebe's life improved significantly after these treatments, and she now advocates for more awareness and testing for Lyme disease. Please keep in mind that these podcasts are individual experiences and are not meant to be taken as medical advice. I enjoy sharing these stories to help give ideas on how others have healed from the clutches of Lyme, tick-borne illness, and mold toxicity. Each story is unique as is every person's experience with tick-borne illness. That is part of the challenge to find a way back to health...there is not one easy cure. We can do better and I am hopeful to see much more attention falling on Lyme and the individuals suffering from it in today's political agenda. Please like and subscribe to get notified when new episodes are dropped and to help others find these stories of hope and info. I get so excited when I see a new subscriber because I know that is one more person benefitting from some good in this fight.

Ep 79The Silver Lyming: Episode 79 with Kiki Penn

On this episode of The Silver Lyming, Kiki Penn shares her experience with Lyme disease, which she contracted at age 9. She describes her journey with the disease, including mental health challenges, physical symptoms such as back pain, gastrointestinal issues, and neurological problems. Kiki also discusses her struggles with the unpredictable nature of the disease and the challenges of finding effective treatment. She shares her experiences with various treatments, including antibiotics, herbs, and MMS, and emphasized the importance of listening to one's body during treatment. Please like and subscribe to this channel to help others find these stories. One thing I get asked for are more details on how to heal. This is a great episode to help elaborate on that topic. Healing is possible.

Ep 78The Silver Lyming: Episode 78 with Ryann McIntire

Ryann is one of the first people I met on our journeys back to wellness. It has been almost a decade since we first crossed paths and it has been a joy watching her. She was able to finally graduate college after having to drop out because of tick-borne illnesses and has recently gotten married. She is now thriving after struggling with sickness for most of her life. If you are looking for inspiration, look no further and listen to Ryann's story. If you are inspired and helped by Ryann's story, please like, subscribe, and leave a comment below so that others have a better chance at finding us.

Ep 76The Silver Lyming: Episode 76 with Dr. Cristina McMullen

On this episode, I interview Dr. Cristina McMullen, a naturopathic doctor and wellness coach, who shares her background in alternative medicine and her extensive experience treating patients with tick-borne infections. Dr. McMullen explains how she became passionate about this field after witnessing the positive results of holistic treatments at Longevity Health Center, where she has worked for nearly 20 years. We discuss the complexities of PANS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders) and its relation to Lyme disease, with Dr. McMullen highlighting the need for individualized treatment approaches. Dr. McMullen discusses the importance of building immune resilience in children, emphasizing that despite potential exposure to pathogens like Lyme disease, children can be protected and empowered to lead healthy lives. She shares success stories of patients who recover from chronic health conditions and thrive academically. Dr. McMullen stresses the need for education and preparation rather than fear, encouraging outdoor activities while teaching practical measures to handle potential infections. This is an important episode as children are the hardest hit population when it comes to Lyme and tick-borne illness, and they experience a litany of symptoms related to their cognitive abilities which could derail their academic life, as well as their physical health permanently if left undiagnosed and untreated. PANS/PANDAS is something that often accompanies tick-borne illness so being informed and aware is crucial.

Ep 75The Silver Lyming: Episode 75 with Arden Henderson

On this week's episode, my guest Arden shares her experience with Lyme disease, which began after a dental procedure that led to severe neurological issues, anxiety, and depression. She was fortunate to have a Lyme literate doctor who diagnosed her and recommended treatment. Arden tried various treatments but found them ineffective, leading her to seek alternative therapies in Mexico. After undergoing hyperthermia and oxidative therapies, Arden experienced a significant improvement in her condition. She emphasized the importance of hormone optimization during treatment, as it helped alleviate her symptoms. Arden also discussed the challenges of managing Lyme disease, including the difficulty of finding effective treatments and the impact on mental health. I hope this episode gives you some ideas on treatment options especially if you are struggling to find one that works. As you can tell from Arden's experience, she really had to figure out some alternative options to regain her health but was successful with her efforts. Feedback is always welcomed. Ep 73The Silver Lyming: Episode 73 with Dr. Geoffrey Dow

Are you aware that ticks can spread more than Lyme? Sadly, they also possess the power to transmit a number of co-infections, one being babesiosis. This week's guest, Dr. Geoffrey Dow, is no stranger to understanding the wrath of this infection. He studies it extensively alongside malaria and dengue fever. After his daughter struggled with Lyme and tick-borne illnesses, Dr. Dow was compelled to co-found 60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals. His company has developed a drug to combat babesia called Arakoda, which kills all lifecycle stages of the parasite, similar to malaria treatment, and targets persistent forms to prevent relapse. Take a listen as Dr. Dow discusses the challenges in diagnosing babesiosis, noting that while acute cases can be detected through blood smears, standard PCR tests become ineffective soon after symptoms subside. Dr. Dow estimates that there are up to 900,000 cases of babesiosis a year, making better testing and treatment imperative. Dr. Dow will also be needing participants for 60 Degrees chronic babesiosis study once it opens for enrollment so keep your eyes peeled for this to happen soon if you are interested in helping.

The Silver Lyming: Episode 72 with Nicole Bell, CEO of Galaxy Diagnostics

This episode will stick with me forever. Nicole has quite the story to share. I know this is a podcast about hope and this particular story is not all pleasant. Nicole unfortunately lost her partner to tick-borne illness, but she has turned some of that pain into helping others get a more timely and accurate diagnosis as a result of it. Nicole has become the CEO of Galaxy Diagnostics which is one of the labs I used while trying to regain my health. I am forever grateful to this lab for helping me get an accurate test and diagnosis. Please pay attention to Nicole's story so you can hopefully avoid having to experience the same thing that she and her husband did. The more we know and understand about Lyme and co-infections the better we can stay healthy and protected. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback after listening to this episode. Leave a like and comment below to help others find us. Stories like Nicole's are educational and also inspirational knowing what she has done to try to fix the system. Thank you, Nicole, for being such an amazing human and giving back so graciously to the Lyme community. The work you are doing is incredibly important.

Ep 71The Silver Lyming: Episode 71 with Dr. Keith Ellis

Do you ever wonder about the similarities between Lyme and long Covid? I know I certainly have. This week's guest, Dr. Keith Ellis, has spent a good portion of his research on understanding how long Covid works and potential therapies including developing a natural alternative to triple anticoagulant therapy. Dr. Ellis acknowledges the similarities between long Covid and Lyme, and we discuss whether the two overlap. I have often wondered if people who get long Covid may have Lyme that is already tapping their immune system and therefore the Covid is able to really set in. Take a listen as Dr. Ellis explains about some of his research, some of the challenges he faces looking at more natural remedies such as being very labor-intensive and a longer timeline, and what he hopes to achieve. If you find this episode useful and insightful, please be sure to like and subscribe, so I can continue to grow my viewer-base and add more thought-provoking guests like Dr. Keith Ellis. Recently I found out my show is ranking #34 for alternative health podcasts in Sweden, highlighting the fact that Lyme and tick-borne illness is something affecting the whole world, not just the US. We all can benefit from this information.

The Silver Lyming: Episode 70 with Dani Whitestone

Talk about a powerhouse! Dani was referred to me by another show guest, Kara Truong, and I am incredibly grateful for the connection. Dani is a woman after my own heart with her recovery from mold and tick-borne illness, and her affinity for entrepreneurial work. She is a successful business owner and author of "The Brilliant Businesswoman: Your Guide to Entrepreneurial Success". Dani experienced a tick bite which she dismissed initially. Over time, however, she experienced a range of symptoms including flu-like symptoms, weight gain, and mysterious pains. She eventually felt a significant improvement after being prescribed some antibiotics for an unrelated infection which made her question what was really happening in her body. The infection came from her dog, that she even questioned getting because she was unsure she could take care of a dog since she was struggling so with her health, but in the end, the dog helped save her life when it scratched her, causing an infected wound on her ankle. Her doctor, who is also a naturopath, suggested that the tick bite could be at the source of all her issues after she had reacted to the antibiotics as she did. Dani ultimately used Lyme-N treatment and was able to regain her health. Take a listen as Dani shares her journey and many of the changes she undertook to heal her body, including eliminating mold toxicity. You can reach out to Dani at [email protected]. Ep 68The Silver Lyming: Episode 68 with Justin Weathers

Justin is someone I was introduced to through the power of social media. He shares a lot of his healing journey on TikTok ("Surf the Storm") and is rather inspirational with his dedication to healing and moving forward, while maintaining a good attitude and level-headedness in his situation. Justin had been a land surveyor and suspects that is where he contracted his tick-borne infections. He has been experiencing symptoms for over 15 years but only received a diagnosis 5 years ago. He has experienced air hunger, panic attacks, stomach issues, heart palpitations, and migraines. He was told by his doctors he had anxiety, depressions, and allergies. Unfortunately, that happens to far too many of us. I hope and pray that the narrative changes with the Western medical community to consider tick-borne illness when there are so many unanswered health challenges versus simply brushing them off as stress, depression, or anxiety. Justin began experiencing Bell's palsy and had a "frozen" face and difficulty with blinking which ultimately led to his accurate diagnosis with Lyme disease and babesia. It was a huge relief for him to actually have a true name for what was plaguing his body for so long. He could finally begin working on repairing the damage that had been done to him. Take a listen and please like and subscribe. This information is so important to share as I know far too many people that go through very similar stories and spend so much money and time trying to figure out what is wrong. The more people that are educated better about what tick-borne illness looks like and how to heal, the better. Don't wait till it happens to you to care.

Ep 69The Silver Lyming: Episode 69 with Dr. Bill Rawls, One of My Heroes

I can't begin to tell you how exciting this interview was for me. I love all my guests, and Dr. Rawls is no exception. He was one of the very first people I listened to when I was first diagnosed, and his story gave me so much HOPE. He healed himself and has dedicated his life to helping others do the same. If you are not familiar with Dr. Rawls, you can visit his website at rawlsmd.com or follow him on social media. He is incredibly responsive and supportive. I asked so many questions when I was initially healing and had each one answered. His book "Unlocking Lyme" is something I recommend to all people that reach out to me for help because it is written in an easy-to-understand format and incredibly logical and insightful. It is also available in audio format if you are not able to read. Thank you, Dr. Rawls, for all you do, for the hope you instill, and for finding your way back to health to teach the rest of us how to get there. I never gave up in part because of you and I pray my listeners never do either. It is a hard battle back to wellness, and some day sit seems easier to leave this earthly existence, but that is not a good choice as you never know what tomorrow brings. It took me seven years to recover, not to mention seven years to get accurately diagnosed. Had I chosen to leave, I would not be here...healthy and whole to enjoy the abundance of life. Healing is possible!

Ep 67The Silver Lyming: Episode 67 with Vanessa Cardenas, Betrayal Recovery Specialist

I know many of us experiencing chronic illness have had some type of trauma. The trauma itself could be the trigger for what unleashed the dis-ease in our body, so when I was asked to meet with Vanessa (https://understandingear.com/) to see if she would be a good fit for this podcast, I thought she can add a lot of value for people. I know I was experiencing a litany of betrayal issues: feeling like my body betrayed me, feeling like my partner had betrayed me, feeling like I had betrayed me, feeling like my family had betrayed me, and feeling like God had betrayed me. There was much healing to be done on a soul level, and Vanessa shares a lot of insight into how we begin healing from these types of feelings. Take a listen and let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below. I pray all humans can feel well and come to a place of self-acceptance and love, as that is imperative to fully heal from the inside out. Ep 66The Silver Lyming: Episode 66 with Anna Brennan, author of "Ultraparent Thinking"

In this interview, I get to spend time talking with Anna Brennan, author of "Ultraparent Thinking". While I do not have children, the ideas and strategies Anna shares are applicable to every area of life, so I encourage everyone to read this (if possible as I know some of you are too unwell to read currently). Anna had four children and all of them struggled with health issues ranging from cognitive to neurological. She struggled tremendously with feeling like a "normal" parent and providing adequate support for her children. Anna was ultimately able to get a clearer diagnosis of what was happening with her children which included some tick-borne illnesses. I applaud Anna for finding a doctor who could help her with her children, for finding healthy ways to cope with the struggles raising four children can have let alone since they were all unwell, and for having the foresight to be able to share her system in a book that could help others in similar predicaments. She is truly an inspiration, and my life has been made better knowing her and reading her book. For those of you not familiar with The Silver Lyming, this podcast has been created to spread hope for those who are in the thick of healing from Lyme and tick-borne illness, as well as anyone needing some overall inspiration. The guest I feature are living miracles (as we all are) and share a wealth of knowledge, not only about Lyme and tick-borne diseases, but about how we can adapt and overcome even the most harrowing health experiences. I am truly honored to bring you their stories and to have regained my own health after a seven-year struggle, simply to get an accurate diagnosis. Please like and subscribe to this podcast as it helps others find me. Hope gives others the courage to heal and without your support, the person most needing to hear these words, may not find me.

Ep 65The Silver Lyming: Episode 65 with Rita Rhoads, ILADS practitioner

Sadly, there are not that many Lyme medical specialists. This week I interview the one that I saw in Southeastern PA. Rita helped save my life and I am incredibly grateful. She is also a regional leader for PA Lyme Resource Network, a group that I am also involved with. I know she is incredibly busy and can have a three month wait list. Rita is particularly passionate about helping those with Lyme and tick-borne illness because it has affected many people in her personal life. Thank you for all you do Rita! May God bless you and your family and give you many years of practice yet! If you are in the medical field, consider becoming an ILADS trained doctor or nurse practitioner. We need way more hands on deck. To remind you 400,000-600,000 people are infected in the US alone every year. That is an incredibly large population that needs more support.

Ep 64The Silver Lyming: Episode 64 with Abby Fernald

Imagine that you suddenly started having leg tingling, jaw chattering, and facial twitching and doctors telling you it was from anxiety. Then your symptoms amplify and include severe vertigo, shortness of breath, and extreme fatigue and still not getting any answers from the "standard" medical community. This is what happened to Abby Fernald and gratefully she was connected to a functional medicine doctor a few years into her quest to understand what was happening to her body. The damage was already done however, as Lyme and tick-borne illness are TIME SENSITIVE. The sooner you get treatment, the better your chances are of stopping it before it becomes chronic and thoroughly infiltrated throughout your body. Abby unfortunately wound up bedridden and using a wheelchair due to the severity of her tick-borne infections combined with mold toxicity. Once she got to a doctor that understood what was happening to her, she was able to start on the right protocol, and within four weeks, she was able to walk again. This is a great reason why it is important to get to a specialist that fully understands tick-borne illness. Although it can be rather expensive to see one because typically, they are not covered by insurance. Please take the time to reach out to our elected officials to let them know this is unacceptable and please take the time to listen to Abby's story. She has healed herself enough to be able to practice jiu jitsu and freely shares her journey on TikTok under @Abby.healthandwellness. Her vulnerability and willingness to educate others is absolutely amazing.

Ep 63The Silver Lyming: Episode 63 with Jackie Confalone

This episode is near and dear my heart. Jackie is the patient coordinator for PA Lyme Resource Network (my parent organization for the support group I host) and is also a resident of Berks County, PA (my hometown). Jackie is an amazing soul and gives back so much to the Lyme Community. She has fought tick-borne illness for decades, like so many do, and never gives up. She writes a blog called Hope Through Chronic Illness (https://hopethroughchronicillness.com) and does her best to guide people back to wellness. She is also a fitness instructor at the local gym. It is an honor to know Jackie and to hear her story. Take a listen and leave a comment letting us know what you think of this powerhouse!

Ep 62The Silver Lyming: Episode 62 with Kathy Dolan

Kathy Dolan is a true warrior. She not only overcame Lyme disease but is also turning it into something beautiful by becoming an advocate through the Illinois Lyme Assoicate. She struggled with Lyme disease and a lack of resources available to help her when she was at her darkest times. Gratefully she has the support of her loving family to help carry her through the toughest parts. Kathy is now healed from Lyme and is putting together a concert series called "Music Heals" to bring people together and provide support for those struggling to heal their bodies. Through this experience, Kathy is hoping to raise awareness and encourage others going through similar experiences. Pay attention to Kathy's story as she is yet another person who was misdiagnosed and when she was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease, she was able to heal. This happens far too often, and we need better testing. Please reach out to your local elected officials and let them know we need more sensitive testing. Please like and subscribe if you have found this episode helpful as it helps my show find its way to others needing this information. It can help save someone's life.

Ep 61The Silver Lyming: Episode 61 with Cara Peebles

Cara's story is rather remarkable. Cara has made a full recovery from Lyme, tick-borne illness, and breast implant sickness. Cara and her family had moved to Northern Virginia about 9 years ago. She was training for a triathlon and noticed some abnormal aches and pains which she chalked up to getting older and the hardcore training she was doing. She then went to Mexico for a business trip and got so sick, her boss sent her home a day early. She felt like she had the flu (common early onset Lyme Symptom btw) and was diagnosed with a double ear infection, bronchitis, and strep throat. She took a break from training to give her body a rest, but just did not get better no matter what she did. She took antibiotics and rested, but ultimately a friend who had experienced Lyme, recommended Cara to get tested for Lyme since she had so many unanswered health challenges and they live in Northern VA which has its fair share of ticks and subsequently Lyme disease. She finally got her answer, but the toll had been taken. Cara had to stop working and basically lay on the couch 24/7. It was a huge adjustment for her and her family. She tried many things to heal and ultimately learned about Lyme-N. She is the second guest I have had on my show that used this to heal from Lyme. The Lyme-N helped her immensely, but she was still not quite well. She eventually decided to get her breast implants removed to leave no stone unturned, and once they were taken out of her, she noticed an immediate improvement. Take a listen to her full story and the other things she did to help her body heal. Please like and subscribe if you have found this episode helpful as it helps my show find its way to others needing this information. It can help save someone's life.

Ep 60The Silver Lyming: Episode 60 with Kami Kiritsis

Do you practice yoga? This is something that completely changed the way I healed (and my life), and I am incredibly grateful for finding it. My guest on this episode is one of my teachers and someone I have known for most of my life. I was excited when she reached out to me to be a guest on my show. I had never really thought about the similarities with healing and a yoga practice. I have thought plenty about how much yoga has helped me heal but they really are so much alike in that you have to continually practice both to get any better. Kami Kiritsis owns Aqua Om Paddle, and has also displayed her endurance through creating her own business as well as through having a yoga practice. Her business takes things to a new level with incorporating yoga on a paddleboard. As someone who practices on the ground frequently, taking my practice on the water was really hard. The parallels with healing from chronic illness and this practice are immense so I hope you enjoy the info in this episode as much as I did talking with Kami about them. Kami is a great teacher and offers classes on water, on the ground, and even in a chair for those who may not have the strength yet to do it standing. Feel free to reach out to her on social media or at her company website: https://www.aopaddle.com/. She really is one of the best teachers I have taken classes from. One of my favorite things she taught me is "peace begins with me" and using each syllable on a finger of one hand. It gives the mind something to focus on to allow for a more meditative and calming state of being. I would love to hear your feedback about this episode. Drop a line below to let us know what you think. And if you found this info useful, please like and subscribe to help others find my show. I aim to spread hope that you can heal and awareness about Lyme and tick-borne illness so hopefully you do not have to experience what I did and countless others.

Ep 59The Silver Lyming: Episode 59 with Tanya Hoebel

I absolutely love this episode. Tanya and I met through a mutual friend, and it is uncanny how many similarities our stories share. Tanya is a true kindred spirit and also hosts a podcast to spread hope and awareness about Lyme and tick-borne illness called "Lyme & Beyond with Tanya" which is a fantastic show that I have added to my play list. She went for seven years without a proper diagnosis, and she is incredibly passionate about helping others heal. She is a beautiful soul who has gone through much trauma but has come out better for it on the other side. Take a listen to her enlightening story about how she healed from Lyme and multiple co-infections. Like all my guests, Tanya is open to connecting with anyone who wants more info on her healing journey. Thank you for all you do for this community and beyond, Tanya:) If you find this episode useful, please like and subscribe. Ep 58The Silver Lyming: Episode 58 with Sami Kirschbaum

This week's guest is another amazing soul. Sami Kirschbaum is not only someone who has gone through Lyme disease, but she has also suffered through mold toxicity as well. Sami has gone from being bedridden to owning her own practice called the Lyme Resilience Collective to help guide others toward healing. She has spent many hours training to become a resource for those afflicted with Lyme and other vector-borne illnesses. At her worst, Sami was unable to walk, experienced temporary blindness, collapsed frequently, had short-term memory loss, suffered from Chronic migraines, and had 50+ additional symptoms. Now she is thriving and was even able to move across the country to AZ where she is settling into her new location. She spent countless dollars on fixing herself and saw practitioners here in the US as well as abroad to regain her health. Every penny was worth it because she is healthy and whole today, but it should not have to be this way. We need better legislation to protect us against having to pay for this out of pocket, as well as better access to fixing the issue. There are far too few medical specialists to treat the 400,000-600,000 people infected every year in the US alone. Please take the time to listen to Sami's journey as well as the time to contact our local elected officials to tell them it is time we do better. People deserve good quality of living which means good health at an affordable rate. We should not have to go broke fixing this issue. Sadly, Lyme and its related co-infections have the highest suicide rate of any dis-ease and I completely understand why after having experienced it myself. Don't wait till you get it to get it and care. Now is the time to act. You can find Sami on social media or on her website, lymecollective.com. She is happy to help you and is very good at what she does. If you find this episode useful, please like and subscribe. Sharing is even more awesome as I know there are people needing to hear this. Ep 57The Silver Lyming: Episode 57 with Katie Maguire

I am loving this episode as Katie and I have been friends on social media for years. I have enjoyed watching her growth and healing right before my very eyes. Katie lives in Ireland so please note, this is not just a US-based health issue. Lyme and tick-borne illness affect people on all 7 continents. Katie's journey with Lyme started in 2007 with the bite of an infected tick. She was unaware of what that meant however and suffered for 11 years with failing health. Her grandmother was watching TV one night and saw show talking about Lyme and told Katie she needed to get tested for it as that sounded a lot like what she was struggling with. She ultimately had to go to a private doctor and send her blood to a lab in Germany to get diagnosed as it was not acknowledged aptly in the public healthcare system in Ireland. Once Katie received her diagnosis, she felt better knowing what was causing her issues, but like so many who go without a quick diagnosis, she had a lot of work to do to fix herself. She had to redo her entire being to recover her health and is now a successful actress, creating a film called "Warrior", a film about a girl named Jenny who suffers from Lyme, which will be released in the Spring of 2025. Follow Katie on Instagram or Facebook to keep up with updates about its release. I am so proud of you Katie for being your own best advocate and figuring out what was ailing you and preventing you from living a normal life. May you always have such strength and resilience, and most importantly, good health. If you find this episode useful, please like and subscribe. Ep 56The Silver Lyming: Episode 56 with Wendy Schell

In this episode, Wendy Schell and I discuss the importance of viewing illness, particularly Lyme disease and tick-borne illnesses, as a healing process rather than a sickness. Wendy is a Lyme disease survivor and genomics health coach from Pennsylvania, who has been advocating for others with the illness. Wendy shares her personal journey with Lyme disease, describing how she disintegrated from the condition, losing the ability to drive for four years, and her subsequent advocacy work to help protect others. She expresses her gratitude for being able to participate in events and advocate for tick-borne illness awareness, which has been a significant part of her life since her recovery. Thank you, Wendy, for all you do for our community, and I am excited to follow your journey from here on out. If you find this episode useful, please like and subscribe. The Silver Lyming: Episode 55 with Kelsey Pellegrine

On this week's episode, listen to how Kelsey Pellegrine has become an expert forager after her experience with Lyme and tick-borne illness to make her own herbal tinctures and remedies...or rather, maybe she already was an expert forager and was bitten while doing one of her favorite past times. Kelsey shares her personal journey with Lyme disease and how it transformed her life. She discusses how the experience has made her stronger mentally and has given her a new perspective on life, health, and wellness. Kelsey plans to work with people in the future, possibly through her Etsy shop, the Appalachian Remedy Company, which sells her natural remedies and products, including "Fire Cider", which I can attest to its deliciousness. I am grateful for Kelsey's vulnerability in sharing her journey and her ability to transform it into something so beautiful and inspirational. Ep 54The Silver Lyming: Episode 54 with Ed Chodowski, owner of Eco-Tick Solutions

This is a bit of a deviation from a survivor's story to one of keeping you and your family safer from ticks. Ed Chodowski is someone who had been following my journey for years on social media and I am very grateful for his support and his company, Eco-Tick Solutions. Ed lives in Canada (yes there are ticks in Canada) and was sitting in his backyard a few years ago and was getting chewed alive by mosquitoes. He remembered the spray his mother would make when he was young that kept the biting insects away. She used a combination of things but primarily garlic. Ed revived the recipe and began treating peoples' yard to keep them from being bitten. In the process, Ed realized how well this spray is at keeping ticks away as well. Ed has successfully treated thousands of homes and businesses now including some municipalities in Canada and the military. He is now franchising in the US with great success. His product is safe for people and the environment and does not leave a garlic scent linger after application. But it does linger to prevent ticks and mosquitoes. It does need to be reapplied just as chemical versions do on about the same application cycle. For more info, check out www.eco-ticksolutions.ca. Ed's story makes me think of the famous quote from Mahatma Gandhi: "Be the change you want to see". Ed was not impressed with the chemical options available and decided he could do better. Take a listen as he shares the trials and tribulations of starting this company and what has led him to great success. If you find this episode useful, please like and subscribe. Ep 53The Silver Lyming: Episode 53 with Kara Truong

If you're looking for inspiration, look no further. This weeks episode is nothing short of miracle. Kara struggled with figuring out what was happening with her declining health, after she and her family had moved from Philadelphia Pennsylvania to a ski town. She was eventually diagnosed with tickborne illness, did the recommended treatment, but was still not better. As part of her recovery, she was taught about brain rewiring. She began to focus on things that made her feel good such as the sunshine on her skin and going for a walk. Kara unfortunately had to quit her job and was really struggling to function as a normal human. She was taking some pleasure from the ability to at least walk, until she suffered another injury and was reduced to really having only one thing to focus on to help her pull herself out of the darkness. I am overwhelmed by her determination, strength, and Will to live. I haven't stopped thinking about this story since I first heard it. Please take a lesson and let us know what you think. Kara was hanging on by a thread and has found her way back to health using Lyme-N which I had never heard of before. Feel free to reach out. Ep 52The Silver Lyming: Episode 52 with Michele Cassetori

This episode offers a unique perspective on Lyme disease and tickborne illnesses, shared through the eyes of Camryn's mom (see Episode 51), Michele Cassetori. Michele's expertise and passion as a prevention specialist set a high standard for effective presentations in the field, especially for me as I was healing and becoming a public prevention specialist, like Michele. Her dedication to educating others about Lyme disease is truly admirable. Michele's journey of navigating the complexities of Lyme and tickborne illnesses to save her daughter's life is a powerful example of a mother's unwavering love and determination. Through her efforts, Camryn not only regained her health but also found a place of inspiration to educate and support others in similar situations. Michele's infectious love for educating others has made a significant impact on the Lyme and tickborne illness community. Her story is a testament to the resilience and advocacy that drive positive change and awareness in health-related challenges. Kudos to Michele for her remarkable contributions and dedication to making a difference in this critical area. If you found this episode helpful and inspiring, please like, subscribe, and share so that others may find us more readily. Lyme and tick-borne illness infects 400,000-600,000 individuals a year in the US. This needs to be taken more seriously, so I will also ask that you reach out to your elected officials to get them to do more about this ever-evolving pandemic. #ticks #lymedisease #tickbornedisease #healing #hope #inspiration #lyme #survivor #thesilverlyming

Ep 50The Silver Lyming: Episode 50 with Melissa Klepacki

Officially 50 episodes in! I am so lucky to be healthy and able to make this podcast to share healing stories of hope with you. I get to meet so many beautiful Lyme Warriors and each story broadens my own perspective and knowledge compass. This week's guest is no different. Melissa Klepacki is someone who understands Lyme, tick-borne illness, and MOLD all too well having endured the experience herself. After she spent her 40s consumed with illness, visiting over a dozen doctors, and finally getting a diagnosis with Lyme and tick-borne illness (TBI), she was able to undertake a lengthy detox protocol that helped her fully heal herself. Now she is a Root Cause Health Consultant and fellow podcaster. She works with individuals to help them regain their health by getting to the root cause of their symptoms which is incredibly important in this fight against Lyme/TBI. If someone is unaware of mold poisoning for example, it will be incredibly hard for that person to fully heal (it is an immunosuppressant) and many doctors are unaware of this connection so people like Melissa, who can look at the whole picture, are imperative to fully healing. Take a listen as she shares her story and how she helps others. And while you are at it, like and subscribe. I love sharing hope and inspiration and need your help to grow my channel. Through regenerative nutrition and detoxification principles, she guides you in reducing pain, and inflammation, increasing energy, focus, and clarity, improving sleep, and digestion, and achieving a healthy weight while decreasing the body's parasite, viral, bacterial, heavy metal, and toxic load using food and herbal remedies. The Silver Lyming: Episode 37 with Tashia Linderman

Like so many of us infected with Lyme and tick-borne illness, Tashia never saw a tick or bite mark. She suddenly developed a pain in her wrist which started affecting her ability to teach yoga. She finally went to the doctor and gratefully that doctor knew about Lyme and was able to make an early diagnosis because nothing else made sense as an option. Once Tashia started on treatment, she started feeling some other symptoms like fatigue, which can happen because of a reaction know commonly as "herxing" where your symptoms become more pronounced after starting treatment as the die off is too extreme for your body to process out fast enough. She was referred to a nutritionist who had experience with Lyme and had gone through her own ordeal having lost the ability to walk at one point. Tashia felt like she was in the right place for treatment and she learned a lot from the nutritionist about how to help herself heal. She currently still maintains the diet she was taught because she simply feels better, with or without having the Lyme. But she has learned also what happens when she doesn't take care of herself. She bought a busy yoga studio about a year ago and hasn't had as much time to dedicate to the self-care routine she established. She is working on a healthy balance between self-care and work so she can maintain her health and thrive with her career. Lyme becomes a permanent accountability coach for us to maintain a healthy lifestyle or old symptoms can reappear. That is not necessarily the worst thing as an outcome but can be frustrating at times. If you found this episode useful, please like and become a subscriber so more people like you can find this story. It may just be the thing someone needs to hear to help them on their road to recovery. Healing is possible.

The Silver Lyming: Episode 35 with Sam Perry

Sam began experiencing symptoms from Lyme and tickborne illness when she was in high school. This was a very difficult time in life to be diagnosed, as she missed out on most of what is to be one of the best times of a young person's life. She was constantly incredibly fatigued, and had to take naps, had swollen joints, full body pain, and was hardly able to make it through a day. She's very grateful for the support of her mom, as she really helped her get through this time and get the right diagnosis. Like so many people trying to get an accurate diagnosis, Sam went to numerous doctors in an effort to understand what was happening to her body. She was told things like that she was too stressed to that she was possibly suffering from an eating disorder, but no one seemed to take her symptoms seriously on a physical level. She finally got an accurate diagnosis and began treatment, but it certainly was not an easy journey back to health. She actually thought she was well enough to go to college, but found it easier to hide her symptoms there because people didn't know her as well as her family, and when she came home for break, her parents were not willing to let her go back to school because she was still so sick. It took a few more years for her to regain her health, and for her to be able to go back to school and finish her degree. When she did return to school, she had a new passion for learning about healing the body and has now double majored in biology in Spanish, and is now studying to become a chiropractor in Spain. Her life has completely transformed as a result of her contracting, Lyme and tickborne illness, and her mom, Carrie, has been a past guest on my show (episode 20: https://youtu.be/G-oC9uDiCUI?si=KCnSC85cGDehYjwm) Her mom started an organization called Sam's Spoons, to help others afford the treatment of Lyme and tickborne illness as her family knows all too well, the expenses incurred that are not covered by insurance to help her daughter get better. Many people cannot afford these treatments and subsequently suffer unjustly. If you'd like to contribute to the organization, here is the link: https://www.samsspoons.org/ Sam is another example of someone whose life has been so deeply impacted by this sickness, that it completely changed the course and direction of her life. Gratefully, as we need more doctors to understand what Lyme and tickborne illness looks like and can do to people. There is still far too much misunderstanding about it. You can follow her journey on IG. Look for Sam.Perry7💚 Please like, and become a subscriber to my show, as it helps me get found by other individuals who are needing to hear these words. Thank you for being a supporter of mine, it really helps encourage me to continue forward on this journey.

The Silver Lyming: Episode 34 with Samantha Sloves

Samantha's story is rather powerful. She was struck with Lyme and tick-borne illness as a child at 14 years old and struggled with getting a proper diagnosis like many of us do. What makes her story more interesting is that she DID get a diagnosis of Lyme and tick-borne illness from a Lyme--literate doctor (LLMD) but her pediatrician did not believe in the diagnosis, and urged her parents to look elsewhere. This decision would sadly have severe consequences. Samantha eventually found herself in a wheelchair. She struggled with the fact that she believed very much that she knew the answer to what was happening, but her parents wanted to pursue other options. This is a harder dynamic because she was old enough to know what was happening in her body, but she was at the mercy of what others thought was best for her. I know this happens in many situations in life, but having lived through Lyme/tick-borne illness, I fully understand how it feels to not have the right answer but knowing deep down inside, it is not the solution everyone else is prescribing for you. Samantha suffered for another 2.5 years until she finally got back to the Lyme specialist. Take a listen to her story. I had goosebumps through at least half of it simply from her insight and energy. She is an amazing young lady wise beyond her years. She has become a life coach as a result of her experiences, and I know she will serve so many well. She specializes in helping people through the diagnosis and medical process as well as help people transition between the phases of sickness and health. Both require an adjustment and who better to help with this than someone who has experienced so severely. You can find Samantha on IG at mylymecoachorg and she will give a 10% discount to anyone who reached out to use her services after hearing her story here. You will understand exactly why you need to work with her after listening. I am still blown away. If you or someone you know healed from Lyme and would like to share your story, please reach out. I feel these stories are so important to share with those still looking to regain their health form Lyme and tick-borne illness. Hope gives others the courage to heal. The Silver Lyming: Episode 33 with Quinn Smith

Quinn's story is no short of being a miracle and I hope you are as moved by it as I am. Quinn was sick for 10 years and had been told it was lupus and fibromyalgia. She was doing home care at the time and was helping someone who lived in a very moldy environment. This really heightened her symptoms. She started struggling with a lot of "mental disorders" but no one could ever really figure out what was happening to her. Quinn decided to move to FL to try to help herself get better, but she did not have insurance there, so she ultimately had to return home. She knew deep inside that something was drastically wrong with her other than what she was diagnosed with, but she was out of explanations. She can remember losing her sense of touch one day and could hardly drive, but she managed to get herself to the hospital. Her white blood cell count was the highest the doctor said he ever saw in a living person. She also developed bilateral Bell's palsy. Finally, she was starting to get some better intel as to what was wrong with her, but it took her having to pass out and wake up in the ICU for them to figure out she was "full" of Lyme spirochetes and coinfections. Quinn was happy to get the diagnosis thinking like so many of us that she just needed a few antibiotics, but that was not the case. She sadly lost the ability to walk and was shaking horribly. She was given a lot of meds to counteract those symptoms, but those drugs were not particularly helpful to her. She wound up with 12 lesions on her brain and was sent to a nursing home to relearn how to be a human for 20 months. Ultimately, she had to figure out how to heal herself through countless hours of research and using guidance from online support groups for tick-borne illness. She had to do a lot of things under the radar of the nursing home because they did not necessarily support the holistic remedies she was using to help herself. Quinn is now fully healed and back among the living. She has some so far with her healing and has so much to live for. Check out her full story on this week's episode. If you or someone you know healed from Lyme and would like to share your story, please reach out. I feel these stories are so important to share with those still looking to regain their health form Lyme and tick-borne illness. Hope gives others the courage to heal. The Silver Lyming: Episode 32 with Heather Gray, Lyme Boss

Heather's struggle with dis-ease began when she was 4 years old. Her uncle had committed suicide and from that moment on, she can remember having health challenges including constipation and autoimmune issues. But no one really looked at why she was struggling and sick, just that she was, and they did their best to fix the symptoms. Having these health challenges at such a young age set her up to be a perfect target for contracting Lyme and tick-borne illness when she was bit at the age of 13. Note, she did not get a bullseye rash, which only 35% of people get one of those when bitten by an infected tick. She did wind up in the psych ward at the age of 15, however. She knows Lyme targets the weak areas of the body and it targeted her gut and brain, since she already had deficits there. Her story is not that uncommon sadly. Please pay attention so that it does not happen to you or a loved one. As a consequence of what Heather experienced, she has become a functional diagnostic practitioner. She loves helping people get to the root of their health challenges. She also hosts a podcast with a variety of health professionals and topics pertaining to healing your body. You can find her at TheLymeBoss.com or on social media platforms. She is incredibly knowledgeable at helping you take back your life. Heather feels that if you get nothing else out of this podcast, to please take away the fact that you must prioritize yourself. You CANNOT heal without doing so. Self-love and care are vital.
