Steven Cooklin CEO of Manolete Partners: Current Environment is “Perfect Storm” with Record New Cases“The highest level of UK insolvencies for 30 years”“The UK insolvency market was fully rehabilitated (in 2024) from the temporary two-year suppression of insolvencies that the Government had enacted during the Covid-19 pandemic. Significantly higher interest rates, heightened concerns over geo-political conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and the withdrawal of the large scale financial support provided by the Government to UK businesses during the Covid-19 period, has resulted in the highest level of UK insolvencies for 30 years. Insolvency Service statistics from January 2024 show the number of Creditor Voluntary Liquidations, the largest constituent part of the UK insolvency market, in 2023 was at its highest level since 1960”Manolete Partners - Trading Update Summary:- FY24: 311 new case investments, 18% higher than FY23's previous record of 263- At year-end Manolete had 418 live cases in progress vs 351 at FY23- H2 of FY24, the Company signed 20, £1m plus size cases- FY23's new case enquiries were 692. For FY24, the Company recorded 731 new case enquiries.- In FY24, Manolete completed a new record number of 251 cases, 31% higher than last year's previous record number of 192.- Manolete delivered a 26% increase in overall revenues for FY24 to £26.3m (FY23: £20.8m)- The Company expects to report, subject to audit, a PBIT of around £2.5m for FY24. This compares to the PBIT loss of £(3.1)m reported for FY23.MY OPINION ON OUTLOOKIf Manolete achieves 400 cases and they revert to 2021’s value of £180k per case, they could be generating pre-tax profit of approximately £21.6m. It proposes to acquire 100 per cent. of EPL by way of an RTO under AIM Rule 14. Amur has called a general meeting of the Company in order to approve the proposed RTO, approve a change of name to CRISM Therapeutics, and approve a share consolidation of 1 new ordinary share for every 160 existing ordinary shares.EPL is a UK-based pharmaceutical company which was founded in March 2016. EPL has developed an innovative drug delivery technology to improve the clinical performance of cancer treatments for solid tumours through the local delivery of chemotherapy drugs.ChemoSeed®, EPL's lead product, can be implanted directly into the tumour or the resection margin following the removal of a tumour. This ensures that therapeutic concentrations of chemotherapy drugs reach the deep-seated tumour tissue or cover the entire resection margin. In the case of treating high grade glioma, ChemoSeeds can be implanted during surgery thereby bypassing the blood brain barrier, which prevents other treatments from being able to reach the tumour and be effective.ChemoSeed addresses a significant, unmet medical need in the treatment of glioblastoma and high grade glioma. There are no current cures and present treatments merely seek to simply extend life, often by just a few months, with serious adverse side effects.Each ChemoSeed consist of a chemotherapeutic agent (irinotecan) and a bioresorbable polymer, both of which have been previously administered to the brain with no toxicity issues. This, combined with the target markets for ChemoSeed being unmet medical needs, means EPL could potentially receive conditional marketing authorisation in the UK on the back of positive Phase II clinical trial data. Mark Growing CEO of Zinc Media #ZIN discusses their Final Results for the Year Ended 31st December 2023: Financial Highlights: Full year revenue increased by 34% to £40.2m (FY22: £30.1m), ahead of market expectations. o Revenue growth was driven by 19% organic growth in television revenues of £3.9m alongside a full year contribution of The Edge which was acquired in August 2022. o The Group has significantly outperformed the UK television production sector with revenues growing by £23m in two years, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 52%. o 80% of revenue was delivered from existing customers, in line with FY22. • Gross margins have increased from 34.0% to 39.5%, driven by higher margin TV work and the full year impact of The Edge. • Adjusted EBITDA[1] of £1.0m (FY22: £0.1m), the highest for 13 years and in line with market expectations. o Profitability was suppressed by some of the Group's businesses still being in an investment stage, where they are delivering rapid revenue growth but are yet to reach profitability and made a combined loss of £1.2m. • Robust balance sheet with cash of £4.9m as at 31 December 2023 (31 December 2022: £3.6m), a £1.3m increase on FY22 driven by the positive trading performance and working capital inflows. Cash as at 19 April 2023 was £5.8m. • Loss before tax narrowed considerably to £2.0m (FY22: £3.3m).
