After a year of momentous political and moral conflict over abortion, 2020 is already poised to be the best and the worst year in the abortion wars. As President Trump helps launch the pro-life movement into 2020 by becoming the first president to attend and speak at the March for Life, pledging his full support to protect every child, the enemies of unborn children become nastier and more committed to destroying both babies and human equality.
We will examine the state of the abortion debate through Churchill’s timeless words: “When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we’re spirits, not animals. There’s something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which whether we like it or not, spells duty.” The conflict of these forces is bringing out the best of one movement and the worst of the other.
