Show Notes
In this episode, we focus on the urgent need to address sepsis in Africa and Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), where the highest sepsis burden is found. We discuss the unique challenges faced in managing sepsis in these regions, including diverse age groups, health-seeking behaviors, causal pathogens, and limited critical care access.
We also highlight priority strategic areas for action, including declaring sepsis a national/regional priority, developing country-specific national action plans, and incorporating sepsis care as an indicator for quality of care. This episode sheds light on the urgent need for action to improve sepsis outcomes in Africa and LMICs.
