Jane Elliot is an internationally known teacher, lecturer, and diversity trainer who performed “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise” with elementary students in 1968 as a response to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. It has been used many more times after due to its powerful message to experience being a minority.

Bloomsday 

Bloomsday is an annual 12k (~7.5 miles) race that beckons thousands to participate each May in Spokane, Washington.
