The machine has gone to work for Kamala Harris trying to shape a new narrative on a well documented history of her policies and positions. By the grace of God, President Trump decided to go off the teleprompter during his speech and pull up a chart about immigration. The minutes leading up to this moment were well documented as many eye witnesses are pointing, filming and directing attention to a man "bear crawling" along a roof. One police officer went up the ladder to confront the man on the roof and fled as the shooter pointed his rifle at him. As Trump turns his head to point to an immigration chart, a flustered shooter, just spooked by a policeman takes his shot and misses. Had this sequence gone down any other way, we'd be having a very different discussion. After all, the shooter was in a direct line of sight about 150 yards out. Secret Service detail is far beyond this distance and some news outlets are calling this the "Secret Service's most stunning failure in decades." President Trump's Vice Presidential pick has garnered much attention and speculation over the last few months. Jed Rubenfeld is a professor at Yale Law School and an expert in constitutional law. He is with me today to given an expert analysis on the lawfare used against President Trump. We discuss the case in length, sentencing and the appellate process. In one of the most momentous cases of our time, a former president was convicted of a crime that few understand. The jury was given options as to what President Trump may have been guilty of in a novel legal theory that violates the 6th amendment of the Constitution. This convoluted case included additional crimes that were never clearly explained all the way up to the day of trial. While the Manhattan DA's office run by Alvin Bragg has been consistently reducing felonies to misdemeanors, this was a misdemeanor elevated to a felony by allegedly misreporting invoices, checks and ledger entries in order to conceal 34 payments made. Unironically, Hillary Clinton's campaign had recorded business records as legal expenses in the famous Steele Dossier to which she only received a fine. Bragg ran for election to "Get Trump," Judge Merchan contributed to "Stop Republicans" and Michael Colangelo left the Biden administration to join the prosecution in this case.
