In the latest episode of The SCOOP, Austin and Luke break down their preseason top 25 teams in the country, now that rosters have started to set and the portal movement has largely come to a close. We deeply analyzed each of our top 25 teams, going over their roster, potential improvement points and question marks.

We are back with our conference previews, kicking things off with Conference USA! The coaching carousel is almost done (looking at you, Maryland Eastern Shore), so we decided to give grades for all 66 coaches hired so far, from the big time brands like Kentucky and Ohio State, down to the low major schools such as UT Martin and New Orleans, on an A+ to F scale. We also went in depth on the hires, so if you haven't been paying attention this offseason, this is the place to catch up!

2024 is near, and with the start of the new year marks the start of conference play! With all we've gathered in the first few months of the season, Austin and Kyle look at college basketball with a wide view and predict what conference standings are going to look like. Also covered in this episode are some main storylines in college basketball, including Terrence Shannon Jr's indefinite suspension and the new transfer rules.

In our latest podcast episode. we touch on all of the major tournaments to happen during the best regular season week, Feast Week, in addition to covering the recent ACC-SEC Challenge games. Purdue won the Maui Invitational, Villanova won the Battle 4 Atlantis, FAU won the ESPN Events Invitational, and many more notable MTEs took place that we touched on. We also looked ahead to the games this week, and gave our predictions.

College basketball is back and so are we with our regularly scheduled podcasting! It was an eventful week one, and even with a underwhelming opening night, there was still lots of excitement, headlined by James Madison's win over Michigan State. We also made a list of who's stock has gone up and down in week one, and lastly predicting the games the next week.

In our final conference preview of the preseason, we move to the high major level with the ACC! The conference was disappointing last year, but Miami did make the final four. This year, Duke is the team to watch, being a consensus top 5 team. Miami still has some key players back, and North Carolina could make it back into contending after such a disappointing season. Also, Clemson and Virginia field solid teams, and have favorable chances to make the tournament. Syracuse, NC State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Pitt have some pieces, and have a chance for the tournament. As always, we look at every team in the conference in depth, and where we have them ranked, and select our all-conference teams. Then, we give our picks for top transfers, breakout players, and all-freshmen team in the conference.

To our next conference preview, we look at the newly named Coastal Athletic Association! Pat Kelsey and Charleston once again look to be at the top of the conference, as he got a very strong portal class, as always. UNC Wilmington, Drexel, Hofstra and Towson should be competitive as well. If Stony Brook gets back to full health, they could be dangerous, in addition to William & Mary and Delaware fielding solid teams. As always, we look at each team in depth and rank them, and select our all conference teams, in addition to giving our top transfers, breakout players and freshmen in the conference.

Next up in our conference previews we have the Big South! UNC Asheville was the tournament representative last year, and has a strong chance at making it back, thanks to elite big man Drew Pember. Elsewhere in the conference, Winthrop should make there was back to the top, Radford, Gardner-Webb, Longwood and USC Upstate have lots of talent, and High Point brought in a loaded transfer class. As always, we individually preview and rank every team, and give our top transfers, breakout players, and freshmen in the conference.

For our next conference, we head to the America East, a conference long dominated by Vermont. Every year, there seems to be a candidate that people like besides Vermont, but the Catamounts always get the job done, and we don't think that'll change this year. However, UMass Lowell and Bryant have lots of talent and potential, and there could be some sneaky other teams with Albany, Maine, and Binghamton looking intriguing. As always, we go in depth and rank every team in the conference, plus look at the top transfers, top breakout candidates, and top freshmen.

For our next conference preview, we move to the lowest rated conference last season, the NEC. Despite being the worst conference, it still won a tournament game, so we should be careful not to sleep on it this year! Fairleigh Dickinson returns a solid amount from that team, but Sacred Heart should be the team to beat in the league. Central Connecticut State, Stonehill and Wagner all have some intriguing pieces, and the league welcomes in a new member in Le Boyne. As always, we look into every team in the league and rank them, them predict our all-conference teams, top transfers, plus breakout players and top freshmen.

Next up in our conference previews, we head to the Patriot League. Colgate is the cream of the crop in the conference, and nothing will change there. However, teams such as American, Lehigh, Holy Cross and Boston U could be competitive. Half of the jobs turned over this offseason, so there's also quite a bit of unknowns. As with every preview, we look over and rank each team, and give our all-conference predictions. There's not many transfers in the league, so we passed on that segment, but still listed our top breakout players and freshmen!

We're back with another conference preview, this time the ASUN! Powerhouse Liberty is no longer around, but this should still be a very competitive league, with Eastern Kentucky returning lots of talent from a hot finish. Kennesaw State still has some pieces back, and Florida Gulf Coast has assembled a very talented roster. Austin Peay head coach Corey Gipson brought in lots of talent. Lipscomb, North Alabama, Queens, Stetson and Bellarmine have intriguing teams as well, and could be up there. As always, we preview in depth and rank every team, give our all-conference predictions, in addition to ranking our top transfers, breakout players and freshmen in the league.

Moving onto our next conference preview, we have the SoCon. Forman has been a high level team in the league, and they still may be the favorites to win it, but Samford, UNC Greensboro, and Western Carolina all bring back top level talent as well, and should all have a chance to take home the title. Some of the other teams, such as Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, and even The Citadel, have some intriguing talent. As always, we look at each team in depth and rank them, predict our all-conference teams, and look at the top transfers, freshmen, and breakout players in the conference.

Moving back to the high major level, we preview arguably the best conference in the country, the Big East. It's incredibly strong at the top, with Creighton, Marquette, and UConn all being preseason top 10 teams. Going down further, Villanova has a loaded roster but unproven coach, and St. John's has one of the best coaches of all time, in Rick Pitino. Providence and Xavier also have talent and potential, and overall will make for a very exciting conference. As always, we go in depth and preview and rank every team, give our all conference predictions, in addition to our top transfers, breakout players, and top freshmen.

Moving onto our next conference preview, we have the SoCon. Our next conference up is the MAAC! It's always been Iona's conference, but Rick Piton isn't there anymore. Does that change with Tobin Anderson and a whole new roster coming in? Rider has a talented roster as well, and Siena is filled with young talent. Fairfield and Canisius have intriguing pieces as well, and could be competitive. For our next conference preview, we head to the A-10, which disappointed last year, only sending one team to the tournament as an auto bid. But the conference improved this offseason, and Dayton got star player DaRon Holmes back. St. Bonaventure brings back nearly everyone, and brings in talent too. Duquesne has a stacked frontcourt, and VCU, George Mason and Loyola Chicago have intriguing rosters, along with some talent in the lower ranked teams. As always, we rank and break down every team, give our all-conference teams, top 10 transfers, and breakout players and all-freshman team.

Our next conference preview takes us to the Ivy, which was headlined by a Princeton run to the tournament. However, Yale is looking like the team to beat this season, returning four double digit scorers. Princeton still looks to have a solid team with some young pieces, and Cornell will still have a high level offense. Brown and Penn are both teams that are capable of doing damage in the middle of the conference. As with all of our previews, we rank every team and preview them in depth, and give all conference awards, but don't have a top transfers segment for the Ivy because there were only two transfers in this offseason!

For our next conference preview, we head to the SEC, which is looking like a very strong conference. After having the number one overall seed in Alabama last year, Tennessee looks to be the top team in the conference. Florida, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, and Auburn look like teams with top 25 potential, and even the middle to the bottom of the conference is solid. As with every conference preview, we look at each team in depth and rank them, give our all-conference predictions and top transfers and breakout players!

For our next set of conference previews, we go into the world of HBCU basketball. Starting with the SWAC, Jackson State brings back a solid core, Texas Southern made some big improvements in the portal, and Grambling and Alcorn State should look to build off their success from last season. Next looking at the MEAC, Howard has assembled a high level roster, and you can always count on Norfolk State and NC Central to be competitive. As always, with both of these conferences we ranked them and looked at each team in depth. We listed our top 10 transfers in the conference, as well as our all-conference teams, all-freshman team and breakout players!

With our next conference preview, we head towards the Southand! Steve Lutz and Corey Gipson, the coaches of the two best teams last year, both departed and lost nearly their whole team because of that. However, Will Wade is coming to town! The McNeese head coach assembled a high level transfer class. Southeastern Louisiana returns an intriguing frontcourt that should put them towards the top, and don't count out Northwestern State under new head coach Rick Cabrera, who really hit the juco ranks for his team. As always, we rank and talk in depth about these teams, then make our all-conference predictions, and the top transfers in the conference plus breakout players.

For our next conference preview, we head to the Horizon League! The league is full of storylines and talent this year, with Wright State having Trey Calvin and getting boomerang transfer Tanner Holden. Milwaukee returns BJ Freeman. Cleveland State returns Tristan Enaruna. Northern Kentucky returns Marques Warrick, and other teams have some high level talent, such as Oakland with Trey Townsend, and Youngstown State with the way they can develop. There's a fun group of teams at the top, and we talk about all of it here. As always, we go in depth on all of the individual teams and rank them, then go over our all-conference awards and top transfers in the conference.

In our next conference preview, we head to the Sun Belt, or should we say the Fun Belt! That name rings true, as it's once again a fun conference. The top teams might not be as strong as they were last year, but a variety of teams, including James Madison, Appalachian State, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Old Dominion and South Alabama have a shot to compete at the top. As always, we give a ranking and breakdown of the teams, and select our all-conference teams, top transfers, and breakout players.

The Conference USA has a new look this year, but there's still some intrigue. Western Kentucky got a coach that isn't known to be a talent waster, Liberty has been a successful program, New Mexico State has potential, and Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee have strong lineups. While the league won't produce the same top end teams, it's very close at the top, and the first few spots will be a battle. As always, we rank and break down every team, and give our all-conference awards in addition to top transfers and breakout players.

In our latest conference preview, we break down one of the top conferences in the country, the Big Ten. Purdue returns Zach Edey, the best player in college basketball, but can they win in March? Can Michigan State compete at the top with Purdue? We'll answer those questions, plus touch on some other storylines, such as Illinois dilemmas at point guard and if Indiana can contend. In our next conference preview, we head to a conference that underwent a lot of changes this offseason, but should still be solid overall. FAU comes into the conference fresh off a final four appearance and with nearly the whole team back, and Memphis is very talented. Those two teams will battle it out at the top, but Tulane, North Texas, UAB, SMU, and even East Carolina and South Florida have some intrigue. We're back with another conference preview, this time for the MAC! Lots of talent is leaving the conference, with Toledo graduating their top 3 scorers, Sincere Carry exhausting his eligibility, and Emoni Bates being selected in the draft. But, there's still some storylines here, as Akron retains dominant big man Enrique Freeman and gets a bounce back transfer in Ali Ali. Ohio has a solid squad, Kent State and Toledo could be good, and Northern Illinois and Miami OH look competitive. In this preview, as always, we rank and break down every time, and give you guys are all-conference teams and top transfers!

For our next conference preview, we head towards the Ohio Valley. Despite not being the league with the most talent, there's still some storylines to follow. Morehead State returns player of the year Mark Freeman, and will attempt to assert their dominance as the new OVC power without Murray State and Belmont. SIUE and UT Martin also have intriguing rosters on paper, and Little Rock brought in some high level transfers. The conference tournament was a fun one last year, and showed that a number of teams can contend for the championship. As always, we preview and rank every team, predict all-conference selection, and run down our top transfers.

In our latest preview, we go through all of the Missouri Valley! There are some interesting storylines in the league, with player of the year Tucker DeVries returning and Drake looking to stay on top of the league. Other teams, such as Bradley, Belmont and Indiana State have intriguing talent, and Missouri State, Northern Iowa and Murray State shouldn't be counted out either. For our next conference preview, we move to the best conference the past few years, in the Big 12. The conference has its fair share of storylines this season, with Kansas being a popular pick for #1 nationally, Houston joining the conference, and some new head coaches. In this conference preview, we rank our teams and give an in depth breakdown on them, and give award predictions.

In our latest conference preview, we dive into the Summit League! Despite Oral Roberts losing their coach and Max Abmas, there is still plenty to be excited about. South Dakota State returns Zeke Mayo, and ORU still has lots of intriguing pieces, and even the bottom of the league looks competitive. As in all of our conference previews, we go over our all-conference teams, top transfers, and our league standings.

The WAC has a bit of a new look, with New Mexico State and Sam Houston State no longer in the conference. However, Grand Canyon is back, and they look well in position to grab a second straight tournament appearance with a loaded roster. The conference is a little weaker than last year, but there's still some storylines to look out for.

We are back into the conference previews with arguably our favorite conference, the Mountain West! After sending San Diego State to the national title game, the conference will be back for more, as there are six team with a reasonable shot at the tournament. As always, we go through our top transfers, freshmen, all-conference teams, and projected standings.

However, a new team may be rising to the top, as Weber State seems to have all the pieces to run away with the conference. The WCC is now without BYU, but still has lots of excitement! The Gonzaga-Saint Mary's battles are still here, and both have some of the best players in the conference. It's debate night! In the heat of the offseason, we thought we'd bring some entertainment to the table, as Austin and Kyle go head to head, with Dan as the judge, trying to claim the Hoop Scoop Media Debate Night championship. Can Purdue contend in March? Is John Calipari washed? Should Gonzaga seek realignment? But before we get into the debating, we also touch on the news of the past week, such as Jahvon Quinerly landing at Memphis, Chris Ledlum re-entering the portal, Peach Jam wrapping up, and Kentucky looking good in an international competition.

Austin and Kyle identify breakout players for next year, compiling over 40 players from around the high major conferences. We also touch on some recent transfer news (Joe Toussaint to Texas Tech, Paul Mulcahy to Washington) and give some quick thoughts on the Nike EYBL Peach Jam.
