Sarah Ashton-Cirillo is an America author, journalist, a combat medic with the Ukrainian army, and transgender with a $50,000 bounty on her head. She has been in Ukraine since March 4, 2022 and at one point, was the only Western journalist who stayed in Kharkiv while it was under siege.
In this interview we spoke with Sarah about her journey from journalist to solider, the LGBTQIA experience in Ukraine, what life with a bounty on your head is like, and the best charities supporting Ukraine today.
