The Financial Accountability Office says Ontario's deficit will jump to almost $12 billion this year as a result of higher spending in the Liberal government’s 2018 budget and weak revenue gains.
This announcement comes a week after Ontario’s auditor general declared that the provincial deficit is nearly double the amount stated by the Wynne government.
