A just-released 5-year U.S. study (2016-2021) shows a stready increase in the number of children seen in emergency rooms for suicidal thoughts. Called "an unprecedented mental health crisis" predating, yet also including Covid years.
In Canada suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people. 24% of deaths of 15-24 year olds in Canada are due to suicide.

The Association For Canadian Studies/Leger poll on Canadians reaction to the Trudeau government's decision to increase annual immigration levels to 500,000 by 2025. 75% of respondents to the poll are very or somewhat concerned this plan will cause excessive demand on housing, healthcare and social services.. Quebecers are more open to increases in immigration than the ROC. Montrealers (particularly non-francophones) are much more open to immigration increases than are Torontonians and Vancouverits.
