Show Notes

Today’s podcast:

Signing on again after 2+ months. Two hospital stays, 4 days in ICU and surgery. On March 31, Jeff Storey saved my life by making a 911 call for a police wellness check on me. Police officers had me rushed to hospital where E.R. doctors initially weren't sure I would survive. I have zero recollection of any of this or the three days leading to Jeff making the 911 call. Jeff Storey did what he does so well and that is make a decision and take action. Jeff stepped forward in a situation he assessed as an emergent. Too often people hesitate or don't act at all. Jeff joins me to talk about that March 31 morning and what led him to call 911.

Guest: Jeff Storey. 900 CHML program and news director. Regional PD for Corus radio Ontario

A testy exchange between federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault and Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe. Guilbeault stating if SK refuses to follow environmental edicts from Ottawa concerning the operation of coal plants in the province beyond 2030, it will be a violation of Canadian Criminal Law.

Premier Moe responds he will make sure the people of Saskatchewan, when they flip a switch, will have access to heat and hydro during the worst of winter and if that's a criminal law violation the premier challenges Guilbeault to "come and get me."

Guest: Scott Moe. Premier, Saskatchewan

The controversy swirling around the appointment of David Johnston as the federal government's special rapporteur on China interference in Canadian elections. As well, Johnston's refusal to step down from the role after the House of Commons majority vote calling on him to do so.

Guest: Michael Cooper. Conservative Party of Canada shadow minister for Democratic Reform

Men's health and specifically men's prostate health. Where does prostate health and prostate ill health, including cancer, rank as far as men's health is concerned? - What must every man (and the people who care about him) understand about prostate health? - What are the symptoms of prostate ill health? - How is prostate health treated from an initial minor irregularity to metastatic prostate cancer? - New drugs and procedures are increasingly being introduced into treating prostate issues, including robotic surgery.

Guest: Dr. Bobby Shayegun, Urologic Oncologist and Director of Surgery (and one of the world's leading robotics surgeons) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton. My doctor as well.
