The federal government has threatened to impose a federal carbon tax on any province that does not have their own cap-and-trade scheme by September. Meanwhile Doug Ford is move to drop gas prices by 10 cents a litre in Ontario, do away with Ontario’s current cap-and-trade deal and challenge the federal carbon tax. But how might tax-based increases in the cost of gasoline hurt Canadians on the individual and family levels?
