Prime Minister Trudeau announces a 2-month 'GST Holiday' on several consumer items including prepared foods, restaurant meals, children's toys, books and Christmas trees between December 14 and February 15, 2025. Additionally, anyone earning less than $150,000 this year will receive a $250 cheque from Ottawa. The bill to taxpayers applied to the national deficit will be $6.5 billion. - Canada's small and medium-sized business community is responding to this action by Trudeau.
