Split headline: Canada's divorce rate is at its lowest in 50 years. However, Fewer people are entering marriage. This according to a report from the Vanier Institute of the Family. What gives? Hold on though! There's another consideration. What is happening to couples who live together in common-law relationships, but choose not to marry? In 2021, according to the Vanier report, 22.7% of couples were living common-law and when they split up the numbers are shifted to the divorced column.
